Honestly, if Ram were to bring back the Dakota it

P.S., as for Ram bringing back the Dakota to compete with the Maverick, do I really want that?

YES,YES,Yes!

They state the Mav is a “rough ride.” I read as much as I can and watch all the videos before my eyes start to hurt and I don’t believe a “rough ride” is mentioned much if ever. A little loud cabin noise is mentioned more than a rough ride.

Anybody with their Mav who hasn’t specifically mentioned the ride quality want to chime in?
XLT Hybrid here. I have no issues with the ride. I picked the Maverick up and drove it over 1100 miles in two days. Absolutely no issues with ride or with cabin noise.

Lots of Maybes in there. Maybe a mid size like the old Dakota. Maybe a new compact line. By the time they actually make decisions and get something to market, there will be a Maverick 2.0 in the works. LOL

But I welcome the new compact truck revolution. More choice and competition is good. But nothing else is imminent.
Hell, by the time they actually get ready to deliver them my '22 Maverick will probably already be here!!!

If they put the 2.0 Hurricane engine in it with the outstanding gas mileage it brings they may very well have a winner right there. But.....will they? Time will tell on what approach they will take. Mostly conjecture at this point.

I think they would be better off branding it as a Jeep and bringing back the Comanche in smaller form to compete with the Maverick.
I am completely on board with another Comanche; the Gladiator just doesn't cut it.

All they have to do is use the Cherokee platform and slap the classic Jeep grille on the front and it would sell like mad.

All I expect is a reskinned Jeep Gladiator, they are t creative enough to actually go compact. They literally could stretch their Compass, but they can't make a small motor worth a darn.

Now if the would put the Jeep J6 into production, I would consider it!

There is greater demand for the Maverick hybrid than the Maverick EB. So, if there isn't a Ram Dakota Hybrid, then they will just be chasing their tail and adding another cute little gas guzzler to the unibody pickup lineup. From the link, it is a nice looking truck.
The only way RAM sells vehicles is to put 1,000hp V-12 engines in everything. That's about to bite them in the ass.

I really like the appearance of Dodge vehicles in most cases. Cars and trucks. But that thing looks like a dodge sante cruz. I prefer the boxier look of the maverick by a long shot
my thoughts exatly

I've never once thought my Maverick was a rough ride. It may not be the most plush, but it's certainly not rough.

I used to have a 1998 GMC Sonoma, single cab SLS. Now THAT was a rough ride.

If they come out at the price point, and make the truck look like a truck (which I believe Dodge would), I would do the mav in a heart beat. But we all know it won’t happen at least not soon

In 2016 Jeep did a concept " Comanche" on a Renegade body - so its a Fiat 500 in a jeep skin LOL .

I've owned enough Chrysler products over the years to know that I'll never buy another. As of right now, there is no competition for the Maverick.
