Vehicles gets much easier when the kids move out and you become empty-nesters. Can buy all sorts of dumb automotive stuff like I did. Why? Because I can now afford to.
I used to love Discount Tire, but the only store within 2 1/2 hours of me:
1.) doesn't allow online appointment scheduling (the calendar is all grayed out and can't move to the next month)
2.) NEVER ANSWERS THEIR PHONE when called; nothing like listening to the recording loop for 45 minutes...
Congrats on your new Mav. I just picked mine up 2 days ago in Bend at MSRP. No sales tax in Oregon is a blessing.
Didn't get the recent college grad discount... unless 25 years ago is 'recent' but did do the Farm Bureau 500; beats a poke in the eye.
As an aside, some Washington dealers honor...
Took 370 days from the day ordered for delivery.
2022 VB Lariat Lux FX4 CP360 4k and Tri-Fold. At MSRP from Kendall Ford in Bend OR, less the Farm Bureau $500 offer.
Hood scoop painted to match, bronze Fifteen52 Matrix MX wheels, Bushwhacker flares, roof and tailgate spoilers all ready to...
Not inexpensive; just over $600 to paint. Limited body shops in my area to choose from and wanted to get in before all the winter crashes clog up the shops.
Just picked up the freshly painted Ford Accessory hood scoop yesterday evening from the body shop; Velocity Blue... expected vehicle delivery the week of December 21st.
Pardon the mess, working on cleaning up the garage for the Mav delivery... hood scoop sitting on a stack of summer tires here.
The week of 24th per the e-mail received at the start of the month from Ford; the window sticker was available to be viewed on Monday the 24th. That, after 2 build date reschedules.
Aloha, I shipped a Jeep to Hilo from Tacoma in 2019 it was only $1300; shipped a Ford Escape again from Tacoma to HIlo in 2022 and it was half again more. Matson was used for both vehicles.
With the crazy $5-$10k markups on the islands it may be cheaper to order from a dealer on the Mainland...
01 Ranger with Mazda lipstick 4x4 is what we intended to replace, but we just put a Hurst in it and new tires on it this year, may end up keeping it to bash around the old logging roads in the Cascades.
