That's not a bumper for the tailgate?

Check the top of the tailgate bed area, not on the actual tailgate but what it closes against. I'm pretty sure that's where it goes and I don't even have a Maverick

Its definitely the bumper stop for the tail gate that goes to the upper part of the bed. Mine fell off my F-250 work truck a while back.

I was under my truck ,putting on splash guards ,so what the heck screwdriver in hand I figure let me check some of the screws that are visible holding up the plastic guards underneath . I am not being nit picky( hope I spelled it right WOULD I call them excessively loose No . Could I get two turns on them without overtightening them at all Absolutely...just saying truck was picked up on 2/22/2022 . So when you cant stop going out to the garage to look at your new truck stick a screwdriver in your pocket ...
