Some are charging $10,000 or more. On the Bronco, some are charging $25,000 markup.
I wanted a Bronco, but I'd rather buy two Mavericks for the price of one Bronco :)

My opinion:
If your salesmen told him a set amount, then you should honor that. Trying to say they didn't run his credit card for the $1000 deposit justifies this. NO I don't give a damn what Tim says.. right is right and wrong is wrong. This guy was done wrong. Tim said back when, if they did Adm that it would probably be around $2,500 well this was $7,500. They deserve the poor wrap they get on this because what they did was not right in any way shape or form. Tim can try to rationalize it and justify it all he wants. They screwed this cat over and he knows it. All they had to do what honor what his saleman told him and not be so freaking greedy. This was all in text by the way... not just him talking on the phone.

It's hearsay and nothing in writing so we're taking this kid's word for it. He says some pretty off things in his video regarding a "$1500 dealer fee" when clearly he's referring to the delivery/freight charge so right off the bat I know that he's uninformed. I just don't go away from that video with the vibe of that being exactly how it went down. Also, pretty common knowledge with sales of any kind that if you don't have a signed contract or agreement then a verbal thing means nothing. The kid is whiney and naĂŻve. All you people with with pitch forks and torches angry at the dealers need to calm down in your witch hunt......

My dealer found a work around - buy one from another dealer, put it on your used lot, add $10k to original sticker price.

Sad thing, this is my exact build except Area 51 instead of Hot Pepper Red. Made mention of it in my email I sent this morning asking for any updates.

Randy, this is off topic, but your Order Date of 8/14 on a similar truck and the fact you have a build date gives me hope :)

Best of luck to you... I hope my truck is not delayed again and/or pushed to 2023.

Not buying it. This wasn't a kid this was a grown man. He even had the text where the saleperson told him all this info and comfimed it. Yes, he should have done due dilgence, but he didn't know he was dealing with some greedy dealership as he had never experienced that before. You can bet your ass he learned a lesson. You are in NO position to tell anyone what they need to do. I didn't ask you to reply to my message. I am not angry I just call them like I see them. It doesn't impact me one iota. But again right is right and wrong is wrong and Tim knew the bad wrap they were going to get so he tried to make it look as best he could. They know what they did.

Ehh, I don't agree with your assessment, the potential buyer was naĂŻve like I said. I dislike dealerships just as much as anyone but the dealer didn't do anything wrong and it's a he said he said scenario so who knows what really happened or took place. Tim Bartz didn't even have to address it. What would you like them to do? Offer the seller a free Maverick or even one at MSRP? Ridiculous. I'm sure Long McArthur isn't worried about one young kid's overly dramatic whiney youtube video considering anyone with an ounce of common sense understands that it's the potential buyer's fault for not finding out the details and getting something in writing.
You didn't address why the Dealership changed their process after this screwup.....obviously the kid made his point ...it would be nice however if their was an apology for the misunderstanding to go along with this change in process and since the markup is a moving target it appears, an adjustment would have been nice and good marketing. Last I looked that video had over 5k viewers and growing. Oh ya you also failed to mention that the kid said he had text messages. We don't know if that is true or if they are telling but that sure doesn't look good. Obviously this is not a Tim Bartz issue and you are right he didn't need to address it but he did as best he could considering he works for the dealership.

Where does that end? The dealer did their own damage control to make sure no more speculative and accusatory videos get posted. It wasn't to protect the customer, it was to protect their reputation from seemingly baseless accusations. You claim it as an admission of guilt when really it's to protect them from morons with a social media account dragging down their reputation. This kid posts nothing as proof just hearsay but still, the dealer has to save face because of accusations. Just like society when it comes to social media, you're guilty as soon as someone posts it to youtube/tiktok/facebook/instagram/etc. The social media warriors will be out in full force with pitchforks and torches despite the lack of solid evidence and I'm surprised there isn't a gofundme for this kid to raise $1,000,000.00 to buy a loaded lariat.
