So my maverick was originally scheduled for a 2/21 build date and got pushed back last friday to 2/28. I have not received anymore emails from ford since then. My build is an XLT AWD ecoboost with 4k tow package and co pilot360 originally ordered and confirmed on 9/27. Someone at my dealership called me today and left me a voice message saying he was in contact with the factory and my build was pushed back 6-8 weeks and that i can expect delivery somewhere around the middle/end of june, then tried to sell me a customer cancelled hybrid at a $5,000 mark up. I called the dealership and asked for the guy that left me the voice message and no one knew who he was, kind of weird. I then spoke to the sales manager that i dealt with when i placed my order and he informed me he checked the system and it is still showing 2/28 as a build date right now, and as long as it wasnt pushed back again i could see it sometime in the middle to end of april. So i dont know what to believe. Anyone else with an ecoboost get pushed back 6-8 weeks? Ive seen some of the hyrbids get pushed that much but no ecoboosts. Anyone else get a weird call like that?

Very strange. Did this person leave the dealerships phone number, or did you just call that dealership?

Many, if not all, dealership websites will have the names of all the people that work there in the various departments. Did you check to see if the person that left you the suspicious voicemail is even listed there? I assume if no one knew who it was when you called, then no.
Super sketchy regardless!

Sounds like another dealership trying to sell for a markup and somehow has your info (maybe a different location of the same dealer?)

Maybe it was the ghost of a salesperson who died when a massive adm fell and crushed him on this very day 5 years ago. 👻

yes it does. If OP had called around to several dealers looking for in transit mavs that are orphaned or got on a call back list for mavericks that people walked away from instead of taking possession, those dealers would have had his phone number. Gotta admit, that was a pretty creative cold call attempt he made to get a sale with ADM (y)

Lots of dealerships use outsourced BDC’s as well. Could be from a “catch a sucker campaign”. :ROFLMAO:

Or could be his CSR was OTP or IAM so he got a different POC who's trying to go from PTE to FTE but needed a boost by COB so he peeked the CSR's CRM and cold-called the first name he saw.

Just guessing... o_O

Interesting, two weeks ago we had a 2/28 build date via Ford email. Then we got a vmail from the dealership we got bumped to 3/14 followed by a Ford email. The bad part was the dealer said delivery would be June WTF! Well I let that slide, they are idiots and don't know much anyway. Things change constantly. Mon a.m. my husband txts me got a vmail & something has happened w our order. He is on Corp calls all day, everyday, so I manage everything about this truck order. He forwards me the txt to vmail & original vmail and it says they sold our truck that we ordered and we will have to wait to order a 2023 that will come in next year!

Lucky for the dealership I am car-less till this Mav comes in haha! I call the dealership, receptionist tried to give me the run around & wanted to help me, not get a manager or salesperson and I tore into her, I hope she learned a lesson on customer service. My sales guy gets on the ph I explain what happened he is confused etc no one called w that message blah blah blah like whatever I totally went ape-shit on him about selling our truck. I forwarded the txt & vmail. I demanded the recap report and their order list while I was on the phone as proof the order was still valid and not sold. We hang up, I check Ford site and all of a sudden the tracker is working again (it didn't work just before I called). Then I get an email from the sales guy apologizing, he made the call by mistake!!! WTF! So some customers ordered truck got sold out from under them.

I'm so done w this. I have zero tolerance for piss poor communication & service. I sell $100k landscapes to home owners, you can not behave this way w customers or treat them like Ford has and not pay a price in reputation & quality.

I have the same build (with Lux and engine block heater), ordered mine August 16th. So far, received emails of confirmation, build and shipped, mid-March delivery. I’ll let you know when I get it…..Regarding the phone call, your calling the sales manager puts the dealership on notice of the bad actions and I’ll bet your on the list of don’t bs this customer.

I bet they are absolutely gorgeous. Tonight I will dream of waking up on Fathers Day with a new backyard featuring an XL as the centerpiece!

But seriously, thank you for standing up. Some dealers might be picking off the 'low hanging fruit' because many Americans seem resigned to accepting total BS, lies and crookedness. We must take a stand and not allow it.
