Just got my 2 inch Rough Country front lift/level with 245/65R17 Falken Wildpeak Tires on Bronco Sport wheels. Drove So Cal to Vegas, hit a lot of wind and my mileage was about 22 MPG.

Immediately after I drove from Vegas to Phoenix/Scottsdale, a 288 mile trip. Trip meter read 25.3 MPG; I "hand" calculated the mileage as 24.84 MPH actual. When I first checked the mileage after a long trip it was about 25 MPG so I do not see an appreciable loss in mileage due to the new tires.

As a side note, not only is the mileage not significantly affected, I did not get any interior noise from the tires and the ride was smooth, as long as the road is smooth. To tell the truth, the wind noise inside the vehicle is more noticeable. :ROFLMAO:

(I had already had the front windshield and two front side windows done right after I got the truck.)

My Maverick is the 2.0 AWD with #4K tow package.

Before and after photos shown.

Beautiful truck but that one pic looks like you got alot of squat going on. Make sure you adjust your headlights.

I’ve been told that after a lift that there can be some “settling”, not just by my installer but by another 4X shop/ installer. I’m taking the truck off road this weekend to see what happens. My installer has offered to add a 1” lift at the rear if needed.

My installer thought the stock 2”Rough Country lift still left a front rake. I’ll report on any updates.

Nice-looking truck! Thanks for the info.

If you don't mind me asking, what did the installer charge to add the lift kit?

The whole job was $1600 installed with just under $800 for the tires and $189 for the lift kit. The ~$600 balance was for the 4 Bronco Sport wheels, installation and alignment.

Cool. So, no more than $200 for the lift kit installation itself, right?

I think that Rough Country anticipates 3 to 4 hours for the front and back lifts, so I would assume 1.5 to 2 hours for a front end lift/level. It will probably vary depending on your local labor rate. I would say 2 hours at $100 per hour is a reasonable estimate.

Looks great and nice to see the actual numbers calculated but barely achieving 25 mpg for a trip that it seems was primarily highway is definitely a solid drop in MPG. That's almost a 15% drop from the highway rating of 29. With my AWD w/ 4K tow I'm getting that kind of mpg with 60-70% of my driving being short trips around town and a lot of stop and go.

While the negative implications of a heavier tire in combination with a taller vehicle may not matter to you, I wouldn't pass it off to others as a non-loss scenario like you're attempting. A taller vehicle with heavier, wider tires will result in lower MPG. It's that simple.

I am not trying to pass off anything as a non-loss; I have never gotten the 29 MPG as the truck is rated, I have been getting 25 MPG and only once or twice have I exceeded that (31 MPG over 180 miles) so the mileage with the new tires is not a big change in MY case. Trust me, I do not like ANY hit on mileage, switching from a 40 MPG+ car to this truck. I knew that there was going to be a possible drop in mileage with the new tires as well.

I will of course continue to watch my mileage closely, hoping for a higher mileage under ideal conditions. Since I have a Hybrid on order already, when ( or IF) it arrives, that will be my daily driver and it looks like my wife will be driving the AWD since her driving is pretty much around-town driving. The AWD will be set aside for winter driving and off-roading on our local trails.

Looks real nice. I'd like to put the same tire on mine, when I get it. When you go to a larger size tire is there some kind of reprogramming that should be done to preventing ABS or Traction Control lights from coming on and aldo have an accurate speedo. Thanks for sharing your experience.

On my 15’ f150 with a 5.0 dropped from 18.5 combined to being lucky to hit 16 hwy with wild peaks. I went up one size on factory rims. They are very quiet and smooth but they hit the mpgs hard. They look great but I won’t be putting them on my maverick.

Can't wait to get my velocity blue truck. But a question for a noob, what is the purpose of a leveling kit? By the way it looks great!

I am running 245s on Bronco Sports and a level lift kit and I cannot get over 20mpg running 89 octane fuel no matter what I do. I dont beat on it either.
