BAK Revolver X4s Tonneau Cover -- arrived & installed

Never ever thought I’d want a cover but I want to use this truck more often then our old suv and want to be able to carry luggage, etc… It looks fantastic on your truck. Two questions, what made you pick that “type” of cover? Also, does that type provide waterproof bed?

Hope you don't mind if I jump in here. I had a BAKflip on my 2018 Chevy Colorado. Fit well and easy install. I liked the flip back because it folded up against the cab and allowed more bed area than the roll back. If you go to BAK's web site you can see the difference.

I don't know of any cover that's waterproof. The BAKs have drainage holes and tubes, but you should plan that a bit of water may get in. I didn't install my drain tubes correctly in the Chevy. Should've drilled a small hole in the cover plug of the bed rather than just removed it. The drainage tube kept popping out. I've learned better on the install for the Maverick, but it's been upwards of 90º here, so no rain.

I have the Rev hard rollup cover that came from Ford on my truck. I washed my truck and lightly watered the cover. When I opened the cover there was a lot of water in the bed.

Several days ago I crawled under the cover and I could see sunlight in all 4 corners. The rear seal did not even touch the tailgate lift.

There seems to be a problem with this tonneau. I can take it to the dealer and the only thing they will do is add some moulding, if they even have some. They will probably keep my truck for a couple of days.

It looks like it needs a thicker seal. Also am I suppose to see white paint on the corners by the cab, or is it suppose to be covered?

PS. The one photo where the seal looks up has been seated. The top still leaks

I went with x4s because you can open and close the tailgate without lifting the cover unlike the sentry ct. Also while both covers have a matte finish the x4s is vinyl and sentry ct is fabric. I saw some videos of a couple year old sentry ct that had faded quite a bit. My hope is the vinyl will hold up better over time, but that might not be the case.

Looks great! Nice addition to your truck. Personally, I prefer the fold back version, but could not find it from BAK people, so I ordered from another vendor on Amazon. Unfortunately, not in stock. Thanks for posting ... I'll check BAK's website to see if they have what I want.

Reading through I thought my Sentry CT needed some defense

While the standard Truxedo Sentry is a 3yr warranty, the Sentry CT is 5.

Open/Close - This is still relatively easy with the Sentry CT, even one-handed I can pull the release, pop the top just a little and close (ok, one-handed + a hip!).

Vinyl vs Fabric - I had a gator vinyl soft-folding tonneau on my 2019 ranger. It was faded quickly, constantly dirty and took a ton of work to wipe down and clean. With the Sentry CT I am honestly astounded. It has been on my truck since October, 6,000 miles and a Minnesota winter and it looks like I put it on yesterday. The matte fabric is exceeding my expectations (I like the matte look, but expected it to quickly dirty and was willing to live with it - I was 100% wrong on its ability to stay clean...I'll post a pic shortly).

Hi I am having the same problem with Ford tonneau hard roll cover it does not seal against the tail gate there is a 1/8 gap going across the tail gate. I do think the cover should have been a little longer.I had my truck back to the dealership twice now for them to try to fix the cover since it was installed there

Sorry to hear that. I know I hate to be without my Maverick. I feel like I"m missing a body part!

First thoughts when considering a tonneau cover is to go with the Ford factory ... I mean that's got to fit exactly, right? Doubly frustrating when it doesn't. Luckily, I had prior experience with the BAK brand and decided not to change.

I had originally ordered my Maverick Hybrid with both a hard roll-up tonneau cover and the spray-in liner, but took the salesman's advice and dropped them in favor of getting my Maverick sooner.
Since receiving my Maverick in December, I had a Line-X bed-liner done and have just installed a Bak MX 4 tri-fold tonneau cover. I'm certainly glad that I made those choices, and I'm extremely happy with both additions I'm sorry to hear the problems with the factory tonneaus though
Also sorry for those with the gas tank replacement fiasco!

Just so you know, BAK/REV is the same company. REV makes the one you buy from Ford with the silver color under the roll-up (X2). BAK's version (the X4s) is black underneath. The X4s has the opposite issue...where it's just a little long and you may need to use a little more force to close the tailgate. If you have the tailgate spoiler like I do, you also have to trim the top corners of it to not hit the tonneau rails. The good thing is, no water in the bed.

Glad to hear all went well with your truck.Not only do I have a problem with the Ford hard tonneau cover but I also received the letter from Ford for the recall for the gas truck since mine also had the factory spray bed.Good luck with your truck! Other wise I really like my truck

look likes the tri fold seals better. I did see a Ford Maverick at the dealership with a factory tri fold and it look like the back did seal on the tail gate.Your also looks good and doesn't look like you will have any problems. Good luck with your truck!
