I've been back to my dealer a handful of times to get various issues resolved. I had to replace 2 02 sensors, a connector for an O2 sensor, and my alternator. After all these issues my check engine like refuses to go out. They claim it's the undercarriage wash at the car wash I go to. My issue is if I don't get the undercarriage wash the salt and calcium chloride from the roads will destroy my body. But if I do wash it water gets in my sensors causing my lights to come on and ruin the sensors. Is there anyone else having these issues out there? It's been in the shop a total of 18 days over the past 2 months

I get it, Im from ohio and washing the salty off the under body is really kinda mandatory. So maybe you got 2 options, find some where with a heated garage that will let you wash the underbody yourself, I always had 1 self wash that would stay open in the winter and I would go there. Or jack it up crawl under it and locate every connector and fill em and coat em with dielectic grease and hope for the best. Otherwise if thats is the cause there isnt much else to be done.

If that isnt the cause which is possible you may have some sort of grounding issue or a messed up circuit from the factory. Maybe see if you can get the shop to clean it and prove thats the problem. If its not maybe they dive deeper and find the real issue.

Yeah it's saying there is a fault the with one of the emission sensors. Here are some of the messages I'm getting in the Ford app. The power control module is new. But the faults are constant.

I talked to the shop and they did everything you suggested. They ordered another connector for the sensor. That comes in 3 days but at this point if that doesn't work I'm going to attempt to get them to swop it out and send it back to ford cause the mechanic said himself "to be honest not sure what's going on here, this shouldn't be an issue...it's an outdoor vehicle"

The mechanic says when he goes in it, everything is filled with water, when they replace the 02 sensor the light goes off and is alright for a few days then it comes back on.

Yeah this is all pretty strange. I noticed in a thread about a big tires and pinch weld trimming that the ECU was right infront of the drivers front tire, barely shieled with the wheel well liner. That is not ideal to me at all. I hope in the coming years they realize that people will be doing more than commuting in these trucks and get some of the critical electronics moved up and sealed better. I think I may want to skid plate my entire underbody just to protect everything more from water spray. And then remove it all a couple times a year to go do the underbody wash properly.

I hope they get something figured out for you.

Any luck with this? My Maverick acted a bit weird today after a car wash. Had a ton of steam come off the radiator and the truck turned itself on randomly after I removed the key. Also noticed the screen flickered when I went through the underside wash (might of just been my eyes playing tricks on me). I turned it on a few times since then and had no issues since. Going to go again next week with a less aggressive wash and see if it happens again.
