Trying to figure out if the buyers of an AWD Hybrid Maverick would appeal a lot of people or if there are just a few marginals (like me) ?
Supposing the AWD Hybrid would have less power than the EB, would you buy it for the same price ?

it will also have a noticeable drop in MPG going to AWD.. Just something to consider.

not.at.all.interested. in anything hybrid, PHEV, EV. I'll choose to hang onto my gasoline engines (including my 2-stroke motorcycles) as long as possible and expect I won't be driving/riding anymore by the time they finally ban ICE engines and force everyone to EVs and/or mass transit.

In the event I'm still above ground and viable at that point in time I'll likely convert 1 or more of my vehicles to straight BEV and be done with it. I'm never selling any of my current vehicles and that includes the Maverick when it gets here. All our vehicles are low mileage and paid for and deliberate choice purchases, so it just makes the most sense to us to hang onto them and if needed convert them later so we keep everything we like about them going forward.

I've been holding my breath for a Maverick Hybrid AWD. Had it been available at launch, I would've probably broken my own "No Fords until the midcycle refresh" rule and preordered one.

I'd also be interested in a Maverick PHEV even in FWD and, to a lesser extent, a Maverick EV.

My line in the sand for an EV is that it must have at least 400 miles of range, must gain 200 miles in 20 minutes, and must not cost more than a similar gasoline or hybrid variant.

The Chevrolet Silverado EV WT comes close. 400 miles of range, 100 miles in 10 minutes, and it's actually less expensive than a similar gasoline variant.

The Ford Escape hybrid loses 1MPG going from hybrid FWD to hybrid AWD. If a Maverick Hybrid AWD is similar then I think keeping the car tidy and the tires inflated would have a greater affect on fuel economy than the drag and weight (or lack thereof) of the AWD system.

That's definitely promising then!

One mpg is about the price for going from FWD to AWD in the Toyota Sienna.

Lots of ifs for me.

If it was available Day 1, if the mpg was comparable when not running awd to the current fwd mpg, if towing and payload had remained the same (minus the added weight for payload but not for towing)....

Now that I have a fwd hybrid. No. Cause I intend to keep this vehicle through its life cycle. I like it so far. And I probably won't need one. Though never know. Maybe if it's an PHEV or straight EV I might upgrade in the future when this one is 5 or 6 years old. But I like having the vehicle for a few years after the loan is over.

If the MPG hit was minimal and it didn't cost thousands more, maybe. I've gotten by just fine with a FWD car the past 7 years. AWD is just not that big a deal to me, and frankly I think a lot of people underestimate what FWD can do and overestimate how often they'll truly need AWD

I would be all on this if the power was up just a bit more with the AWD. For me a sweet spot would 200hp 220tq. I realize that the next issue would be the MPG. If the cost was the same for EB AWD and Hybrid AWD but the hybrid was reduced to 38mpg city and 30mpg highway I would definitely buy it. I just don't see them upping the power, and with not sure if they could get those kind of mpg numbers with an AWD system. would be nicer if that upped the towing from 2k max to 3k max as well, but that is all just wishful thinking. I would think that they would have to do some kind of electric motors in the wheels to pull this off and that would be too far away from how the truck is currently built so I doubt it will ever happen.

Sorry, for me this survey is too soon.

When I finally get and drive my Hybrid, then I'll have enough experience to answer the survey.

But it is an intriguing question.

For me it would mostly depend what it did to the towing capacity. If there was still a 4k towing option id do it for sure. If not itd be tough.

Assuming build quality issues like the creaking interior and easily scratched plastic are not fixed, no.

My AWD Maverick will likely be my last vehicle with a combustion engine.
