Always do lowering springs first.
I also have done lowering springs, resonator delete, Lund 93 octane tune, aluminum drive, wheels and tires among other things.

Sorry guys, personal opinion is this is just some snake oil. They are selling you solutions to a problem that doesn't even exist. I'm sure I will get plenty of flack from this post but I don't care. With the advances in gasoline additives along with simply using some form of injector cleaner every once in awhile there is no reason for this contraption to exist. Sorry, not sorry.
On port injection you would be correct but this is direct injection... big difference.

So instead of putting a tiny bandage on this insignificant problem why don't you circumvent the whole issue and vent to atmosphere? That would cost you free.99

Just watched their installation video. First time I ever saw an engine dismantled just to install an oil separator. Crazy.

So I watched the video and now I'm wondering why do the JLT connections take place in a completely different place than the Buschur connections? Is one going to be more effective than the other because of which lines they are tapping into?

The JLT installs looks to be a heck of a lot more complicated than the Buschur due to where it's feeding into the system. I know sometimes people install them on both sides but is one side going to catch more than the other or be more effective?
First, every PCV system has 3 main components, an airline to allow air into the engine, a PCV valve and a line from the PCV into the engine so the contaminated air can be burned during combustion. By design the line with all the contaminates is the line from the PCV to the engine. This is the line where a catch can should be installed. On the 2.0 Eco-Boost the PCV valve is located on the side of the engine behind the intake manifold. This is where JLT's can is installed. This keeps the oil from burning on the back of the valves. Bushur installs their can on the line that feeds air into the engine. Saying that, there are companies that offer both a can on the air intake line and the PCV line. Radium for example offers 2 cans plus a PCV plate that adds extra baffles and a heavy duty PCV valve because they sell to the person who is tuning the engine for maximum performance. The harder you work the engine the more blow by there is and under heavy loads the pressure can build up in an engine to the point the contaminates can blow out the air intake line and can get oil in the turbo and intercooler. Drag races have such an issue they need to add a pump to suck blow by out of the engine. Your need for protection varies on how you drive your truck, but the Buscher system ignores the main issue that people have with carbon on the valves.

Because most of us don't want to breathe the additional emissions from ~300 million vehicles.

If catch cans are necessary to prolong the life of engines, they should be included on all vehicles--with large enough reservoirs to catch everything between oil changes.

Oil in the intake track will also lead to detonation in hotter climates. Thats why i will have one.

It filters out oil from the PCV system to help prevent carbon build up in the intake manifold. Especially relevant for direct injection engines that are turbo charged

The main reason you won’t see one from the factory is you need to empty the catch can every couple thousands of miles and that’s generally not something an average consumer would want to do.

I can’t speak directly for the 2.0 ecoboost but most DI+ turbo vehicles won’t see issues from carbon build up until well past 100k miles.

Personally I think it’s better to just wait until the carbon build up actually causes significant issues (which could be never) than spend money to try and prevent it now- but to each their own.
I have had my focus heads and turbo replaced twice now at 63000 miles from carbon buildup. I have pics to prove it. Anyone telling you 100k before this is a problem is selling you a bridge.

It starts being an issue every 20-25k mile in my experience with this motor.

I have had my focus heads and turbo replaced twice now at 63000 miles from carbon buildup. I have pics to prove it. Anyone telling you 100k before this is a problem is selling you a bridge.

It starts being an issue every 20-25k mile in my experience with this motor.
Yeah, this person is on crack, I have a DI turbo Subaru and I walnut blast my valves every 30k. I probably should do 20k but it's a pain in the ass on the FA20 motor. Even with a Crawford air oil separator on it the valves are still caked with gunk. I can't imagine what they'd look like without the air oil separator there.

I went for it. I watched to clip and took my time and got it done. BUT if you have Popeye forearms, you're screwed! I'm average build and I barely got my arms in there!
