Good news, bad news. The salesman told me it was damaged and then sold it to someone else!

So glad it worked out for you! I hope this other truck you got is just as nice as the one you ordered! Good luck to you with the new truck!
Thank you! I plan on posting the price differences as I find it amazing!

So last night I get a call from someone at the dealership thanking me for my business. I replied I hadn’t completed a transaction there yet and was still waiting to hear about my truck delivery. He said it would be arriving at the dealer today, Wednesday, and my salesman would be giving me a call. I thanked him, hung up and started packing for my 8 hour road trip. I was so excited I got up at 3 AM and left by 4:30 AM. As I was driving through Jacksonville my salesman called and I was so excited! He said “I have some good news and some news that might make you a little upset.“ Then he said the truck arrived but it had been damaged on the transport truck and the roof was so damaged they had to return it! I was stunned and couldn’t say anything for a minute or two and then I just blurted out that I was not a little upset, I was a lot upset! He apologized and said they would give me highest priority for another Lariat that was unclaimed. I’m afraid that did not make me feel any better! Back to the waiting game 😩
Update 2/3/22 - .Anyone who knows me knows I always say “everything happens for a reason!” This morning I got a call from my favorite salesman, Patrick, at my local dealer, Bozard Ford, telling me his customer who ordered a CG first edition Lariat got tired of waiting and turned it and bought a Mercedes! I’m getting dressed and on my way to get my new Maverick!!! Delivered 2/2/22, the Lunar year of the Tiger and my Lunar birth year! View attachment 34926 View attachment 34927

Update 2/3/22 - .Anyone who knows me knows I always say “everything happens for a reason!” This morning I got a call from my favorite salesman, Patrick, at my local dealer, Bozard Ford, telling me his customer who ordered a Carbonized Grey first edition Lariat got tired of waiting and turned it and bought a Mercedes! I’m getting dressed and on my way to get my new Maverick!!! Delivered 2/2/22, the Lunar year of the Tiger and my Lunar birth year!
Update 2/4/22 - Hit a snag with the Fordpass Visa temporary card yesterday and then the day was over so getting my Lariat today. BTW, never got a return phone call or text from salesman or sales manager about the “possible“ replacement truck☹

I compared prices, before and after MSRP. #1 - “damaged” Lariat, Lux, CO paint, bed extender and co-pilot vs #2 - Carbonized Grey Lariat, Lux, First Edition, soft tri-fold tonneau, moonroof, black wheels, window deflectors, bed lighting and co-pilot.
MSRP - #2 CG $950 more
Dealer Fee - #1 - Gary Yeoman’s Ford, Daytona Beach - $2995, Salesman said he would work on the number 🤣 #2 - Bozard Ford, St Augustine - $899.
Bottomline - #1 would have cost $1146 more before tax and I would still need to buy a tonneau! Instead I now have a moonroof, tonneau, all the other goodies and saved money!🥰 Pictures later today.

Good to hear about the deal .Yes Bozard has the dealer fee but they are very transparent about it .They dont jerk you around with ADM and surprises .Up front they tell you look we charge a dealer fee BUT WE get cars and trucks. I can testify to that ,I drive by there at least once a week on my way to Jacksonville and always there are 3 to 5 Mavericks sitting in the lot waiting for customers to pick up . My truck is in Illinois , when I was there yesterday I said to my salesperson let me put a deposit down as I am going out of town for 4 or 5 days soon( I was kinda nervous:) .He said Joe don't worry about it ! It is your truck and will be waiting for you when you come back to town all cleaned up and ready to go! Under no circumstances will your truck be sold the Sales manager standing next to him chuckled and said " you have my personal guarantee on it". GREAT DEALER

Unbelievable meeting someone from the forum! Great meeting you! I hope you get yours soon and your wife gets her Mach E! I haven’t seen either of these vehicles around town, have you?

Yes, I agree with you! I can’t say the same thing about the salesman in Daytona Beach. There were too many untruths even though I wanted to trust his word.

It appears we FINALLY have a story where the dealer isn’t screwing the customer over. Good luck with your new toy, my Wife LOVES. her Hot Pepper Red XLT AWD w The Lux Package. I did good she said;) Heading to see Mickey Mouse in 10 days and will enjoy your lovely weather (another snow, sleet storm today in Maine;)

They were talking about the number of people who had CDLs, not people who wanted to get a CDL.

I understand you think that's probably not true.
All I know is Mavericks are not being delivered, except when I check AutoNation.com they had several hundred available including hybrids at sticker price.

AutoNation lists 127 right now. From a quick scan, it looks like every single one says "In transit to store."

There are lots of posts on here discussing what that means about whether these trucks are actually for sale versus customer ordered vehicles that haven't been delivered yet.

I suggest you try to buy one and come back and tell us how it went.
