Question - First Edition Maverick’s Tonneau Cover

2. Can an over abundance of SNOW stretch and screw up a soft cover.

I believe that you get a roll-up soft cover. I've had soft cover's on two different trucks. I live in snow county (Wi) and haven't had any problems

Thanks, i looked at Build / Price and surprisingly it is the Soft Fold. I also looked at a video on the FE done by Tim Bartz and he confirmed it. I appreciate the data about the snow. Thanks - Turtle

Anyone know how to open the FE soft fold? I haven’t even looked at it yet as I came home in the dark from the dealer. I’m assuming it’s easy enough but a video or directions would be helpful.
A lot different than the one I had 20 years ago.

I have the same roll up tonneau on mine that comes with the First Edition. I have had a foot of wet snow on it, no effects. If anything, the vinyl gets more rigid in the cold snow and less prone to stretching. I wouldn't want to put much weight on it on a hot day though.

To open, open the tailgate. There are two aluminum tabs on the far left and right tucked under the rail. Pull down to pop them out of their locked spot. It will pop up and now you can roll back.

I saw levers but didn’t look enough to see tabs. I’ll look again.

Maybe it's my terminology. I went out and took pictures. See below:

To close it again, close the tailgate. Clip the edge flange into the locking clips on the end of the bed rail and press down one side until it clicks. Then press down the opposite side until it clicks. That causes the tabs to reset in the locked position. Works well.

Oh that looks a lot different then mine. Mine was like the video.

So pulling the lever straight down it just unclamps and easily rolls back.
