What can you tell us about the airbags in the rear. It looks like a setup I’ve seen for the Transit Connect vans.

Looks you added some assist to the rear suspension. Any idea of what your combined weight was in the bed?

CRF450L = ~300lbs
DRZ400 = ~ 350lbs
The rest? Maybe 150lbs?

Yes, here is the link to the air bag assist:

https://www.sdtrucksprings.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=47923

Firestone bags are heavier duty, but I couldn’t determine if any would fit.
Nice. I had those on my 2006 Pathfinder as it squatted a lot when hooked up to my old boat. I was considering these for my Maverick XL too.

Question: were they an easy install? Like, did you simply squeeze it between the coils while it was un-inflated? Then run the lines to the valves that I see you installed next to the trailer light connection?

Yes, just as you described gear1975, but the kit didn’t come with the “pucks” that usually go on the tops & bottoms of the bags to protect them from the ends of the springs, so I had to make my own.

That looks like a fun load of cargo. Airbags are great idea for the Maverick I hadn't considered. Nice clean install too with the Schrader valves.

I've used airbags in the coils on a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder and they really helped with towing. Thanks for sharing.

What did you make the pucks out of? Got any pics of them?
