Was really looking forward to the Maverick. The utility and the hybrid factor are what sold us on it.

Oh well. Of the ones listed the Insight is on our list; but we really don't need another sedan. A Rav4 or something similar to haul our bikes would be nice,.

Been a 185 days (July 29, 2021) since I placed my order. No updates since the original order and of course not yet scheduled for production. No updates from dealer and phone calls to Ford are met with.. "Call you dealer". Add to that looks like prices went up.

I was excited for my first Ford vehicle. But looks like that is not going to happen. Really disappointed in the way Ford has handled this.

I'll give it three more weeks to receive the "scheduled for production" email. That should take me through the middle of February. If nothing heard, the dealer can keep the truck and sell it to some sucker for 5K over sticker.

I'll stick to a trusted brand like Subaru, Honda or Toyota.
Well, it could be Way Worse: https://www.yahoo.com/news/tesla-customers-paid-100-cybertruck-102700925.html

I think that one of the principal troubles are the dealers and the sales associates. If that combination are bad… everything will be delayed even more than the Ford production speed.!!
my original order was in july 24 but I ordered a XLT fwd EB with 4k tow package. In September Ford said that combination is not possible and you need to reorder. Well, I ordered the change to awd not fx4… and the sales associates was lost in space. He made a new order and basically reset my times to 0. Fortunately the truck is in production since January 10. The ford app said 01/24 and them they reduced to 01/17.
at this moment there are my all information about my unit.
Not dealer info and less than less from the sales associates.
Definitely the difference is that.
Dealer and sales associates.

in my case, if i can change that i will.. but must probably lost my actual progress.

IF ANY FORD REPRESENTATIVE READ THIS FORUM….

SORRY GUYS, but this industry need evolve like too many others.. THE CUSTOMERS NEED DIRECT COMMUNICATION WITH MANUFACTURERS AND FINALIZE SALE TOO. Not dealers at all. Just for show room and service. Thats all. Delivery direct to customers and everything thru manufacturers web site.!!
Will be a healthy thing for you guys.
Must probably in this path (the auto industry evolve) some new manufacturers with cheap EVs will be change that.!!! The first one knocks twice and the second is the first looser.
You typed words. I couldn't focus on them because of your profile picture.

Wait times for hybrids from just about every brand are long. This isn't just a Ford thing, I know. I was going to order a RAV4 Hybrid before I looked into the Maverick. The information on the RAV4 hybrid for example, minimum 9 month wait time for a base LE AWD, US and Canada about the same.

When I was a kid, Hondas were considered absolute junk, somewhere between a Yugo and the early Hyundais. I think they had a model called the Paragon which was worth about 25 cents.
Yep, and then all of a sudden in the very late 60's & 70's Japan was building the best motorcycles in the world. A 1971 edition of Cycle Magazine went to the UK to cover a motorcycle show. All the Japanese manufactures where there, Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha with their latest models and prototypes. Cycle mag asked a Triumph rep what he thought of the Japanese bikes. He replied that in 5 years or so all these Japanese bikes will be gone from the marketplace and become a thing of the past. Meanwhile back in the USA, Harley Davidson was turning out some of the most forgettable bikes ever made by a bowling pin company. AMF.

Then suddenly along came the Kawasaki Z1, the world's first super bike and one of the most legendary and iconic bikes ever made.

I was told "spring" when I ordered in September, so I am not even in the mindset of being about to buy a vehicle. The only problem with switching from an ordered vehicle (which is supposed to be sold at MSRP per Ford) to an off the lot vehicle is the risk of a dealer markup on whatever you decide on.

I used to see this a lot when I sold cars. Customer couldn't get EXACTLY what they wanted from me, so they drive down the street and impulse buy some totally different type of vehicle. I guess the urge to buy ::something:: overwhelms people.

Happened to me buying my first truck. Dealer was attempting to push a Black Ranger V6 with standard cab. Told him no, but if he could locate a Red V6 Extended cab truck i would buy it. Dude just cut the price on the Black truck. I just left and on the way home saw Tacomas being unloaded at the Toyota lot. Stopped and took home a Red Extended cab 4 banger. Honestly was a good truck but not great. Mehh

I am sorry to hear about your problems with the Ford Maverick order. I have been in the automobile sales industry for 35 years (the same import manufacturer for all of them) and I am responsible for the allocation (ordering) at my dealership. If I tried to place a preference (order) for equipment combinations that aren't possible or available at the time, the system will stop me in my tracs and force me to make the appropriate changes... so as much as I understand your frustration with your dealer (... and they should have known that FWD and 4K towing can't be combined, no excuse there but...) Ford's dealer communication system should have NEVER allowed the dealer to complete that order, so there is definitely fault there as well... These are unprecedented times we are living in and I certainly understand that everyone is getting frustrated. We have an enormous waiting list and quite often orders are pushed back or even cancelled (entire monthly allocations have been cancelled) and I have witnessed salespeople (especially young ones) avoiding calling customers in these situations because of the thrashing they are expecting from their discontented customers. The irony is that neither the salespeople nor the dealerships have any control over the production constraints that we are experiencing these last two years. I have a Maverick on order with no production date even though the manufacturer I work for has been making a very highly rated unibody P/U for years, but for some reason the Maverick caught my eye... I sincerely hope you get yours soon.
