It was cut on a very punky piece of cherry, so it's not great but good enough to hang up and daydream of owning one someday.

All you need is the name of your truck engraved on there. Beautifu!

Very cool ! Since you are into woodworking, you might know this. What is the type of wood that has a near red look to it? Not cherry or maple. It is called something else.

Mahogany can be pretty red. Blood wood is beautiful but expensive

Christmasberry here in Hawaii bleeds red and is pretty dark. But kinda junky wood.

Some cedar is very red, there are a bunch of tropical hardwoods that give off a red. If you look at my photo, under the Mav sign is a tabletop I'm working on, it's Brazilian Cherry also known as jatoba. Is that helpful?

That's cedar, not sure which variety.

I just bounced around some furniture colors. I guess I was thinking of stained wood. I think what I was thinking of is either antique red or royal mahogany. Thanks for the info.

There a red mahogany stain, minwax brand, that is a really deep red, we used to use it quite a bit.
