I have found a hybrid XL with 150 miles on it for sale. Plane jane with hitch and the pilot 360 . The guy ordered 2 and wants to keep one and sell one. We are at 27k and he brings to me. Should i pull the trigger?

Sounds like an ADM situation (except this is private, not dealer but same difference) of about 4-6 grand and you’re covering all the fees he paid to take delivery.

From how far away is he delivering it? Do you have one on order already?

In my case I have an order and just need to wait but would pull the trigger if it were at MSRP or slightly above, but not for thousands more.

Lots of factors there - you will have to pay tax and title on top of that - depends - do you have an order in ? If not then you would be what about 5K over ?

Crazy what "used" cars are selling for these days!

If you want to pay that much, then do it. If you can wait until summer to place a new order, and 3-8 months (guessing!) for delivery, then you'll save a fair bit of money.

There are taxes coming and going as well. So more like around 3k profit. For the potential buyer it's not the worst "adm" ever. About 2 to 3k. Still not worth it if you already have an order in imo. But if you don't and need it right now...maybe.

Well if he is selling it to him at 27k he would still have to pay tax, registration/tag and title on top of the selling price wouldn't he? So t his guy is going to get his full amount.

You can option an XLT or Lariat with a hitch & CP360 for that kind of money, or not a lot more for the Lariat. Don't think so, I'd wait.

Depending on where you live and how hot the car market is. It may even be possible to make money on it even getting it for 27k. If gas keeps going up and Toyota can’t push a bunch of Hybrid Corollas and Priuses out, then the Hybrid Maverick will go up in value.

The cheapest private party Hybrid XL in Los Angeles is 35k right now. But our gas is almost $5/gallon. Dealers wont even list Hybrids if a customer backs out on their order as they already have a list of 30+ people willing to pay a 5k markup if one comes in.
