Just a bit of history, the Ford 2.5L is a variant of the Mazda L5 engine. This engine family is very reliable. I have a 2005 Focus that uses a 2.0L in the same engine family, and it has over 315,000 miles on it. Bought the car in 2007 with 38,000 miles on it. No engine work - ever. Rock solid design.
The same engine was in the Miata for years and owners loved the reliability.

Of all the sites visited and questions asked your answer was the clearest and most informative, thanks.

So, here goes. I asked three of the Ford reps at the Chicago Auto Show and the People at Town and Country Ford in Louisville the following and drew blanks.

My towing needs are minimal. Motorcycle trailer and motorcycle are approx 1400 LBS. I don't need the 4K package, but I would like and will pay for separately the "Transmission Oil Cooler" (similar? to the Focus/MKZ cooler), the "Higher Capacity Radiator" and "Upgraded Cooling Fan". So far no one has been able to say if these are available for the Hybrid model or, if so, part numbers and how to specify when ordering.

BTW, mentioning first year models, I was one of the first to buy a 1974 Ford Mustang II, V6 4 speed in Urbana, IL. Bad, bad choice

LOL. My first car was a 1978 Mustang II with the 2.8 V6 and C4 auto. It was a very bad choice. The solid lifter cam and rockers always ticked and had to be adjusted constantly. My Dad and I finally replaced the engine with a 302 V8, but that opened the next can of worms with the transmission.

Had one of those, same year/engine - that German 2.8L V6 was a clunker, died at 80,000 miles. Ended up shoehorning a 1969 block 302 in that car, was plenty fun after that, and surprised quite a few Camaro owners in stop light to stop light runs!

My 2017 Fusion Hybrid runs as smooth as any vehicle I've owned. 110k miles and currently running 47mpg. I expect the Maverick to run just as good so I'm not worried.
Seems like the Maverick may be about the same weight or a little lighter than the Fusion Hybrid? Hopefully we see similar efficiency, though aerodynamics are in the Fusion's favor by a long shot!

I cannot see the Maverick being lighter than the Fusion Hybrid. It's longer and built to handle quite a bit more payload and towing. Just guessing here, but it may even be heavier than the Escape Hybrid.

Looked it up:
Maverick 3550-3750
Fusion Hybrid 3695
Escape Hybrid 3870

Comparing a C-Max to the Escape Hybrid, the latter is bigger with no press touting a low Cd, and AWD to boot, yet I'm getting equal-or-better mileage. My money's on efficiency improvements in the 2.5L.

The transmission in the Hybrid is completely different than the EcoBoost, so it seems likely to me that the transmission oil cooler is not compatible with the Hybrid.

... the transmission oil cooler is not compatible with the Hybrid.
Nor do you need one. The transmission cooler is needed when you have a hydraulic torque converter. The unique hybrid components already have dedicated cooling systems.

Engine cooling upgrades would apply, given a hybrid engine should be designed to retain heat during the EV "glide" phase. (No evidence, just reasoning.)

The hybrid should be great for towing. No mechanical clutch, regenerative braking and no hydraulic transmission. I do expect it to bog down on long uphills when the battery is depleted.
