I don't understand. I didn't fully read this whole thread but my GF's XL arrived with fully working factory cruise. What am I missing here?
Did she get banned from Twitter?

Number two there is NO CRUISE on this truck....

Number three I should engage brain before putting mouth in gear... LOL

At least there are no domestic disputes between @Tyvemattis and @LDHunter . @Tyvemattis has done too much work on getting cruise sorted out, we can't afford to lose him now (no offense @LDHunter ) :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Tyvemattis,

Could you please redo your original post in a more step-by-step format?

It'd esp be helpful to see something like:

Field "PDQ", change original value: "xxxx-xx-xxxx-xxxx" to "NNNN-NN-NNNN.." etc

It'd also be helpful to know your original XL truck configuration to help account for differences accross the platform.

Bill

Made a good faith effort to get this up and running today! Was able to write to the BCM and IPC, but my writes would not take to the SCCM. Shot an email out to FORScan hoping they might have some more insight. I was probably a bit over-enthusiastic in that the new steering wheel is already on the truck now LOL

As an additional note, the 2020 Escape steering wheel I bought ended up having an Adaptive Cruise Control button... promising for the future maybe, but for now just adding to another unknown!

Proving it was a stupid move to not just have it from the start. I love the MAV.. but Ford had some brain farts when developing this truck.

It definitely should've had it from the start! But I don't mind tinkering, end up doing it anyway so it's a lot more fun to think there's a big win out there should I get it figured out.

And hey who knows, hacked in ACC in the future?

Did you get the newer version of forscan? To get acc you need the grill sensor and the clock spring with the stalks from a maverick. Not sure if the escape stalks will work since it has the rear window stuff integrated.

ACC was an accidental feature on the steering wheel I didn't anticipate acquiring lol - The listing for the wheel I bought didn't make it clear it had that ACC control. Reading more into it, I have a feeling I won't be able to take a half-measure with this steering wheel. It's either all-in on ACC or find another wheel.

The joys of tinkering!

I wonder if it would be possible to just put Cruise switches in the original wheel? Would switches for the escape be the same?
or just mount them on the dash somewhere.

Because these controls have to pass through the clockspring (that's how the interface is set up), I'm afraid it would be a nightmare to try and run these through anywhere other than the steering wheel :(

I'm confused about why ACC needs "clock spring with the stalks from a maverick". Can someone shed some light?

So everything electronic that happens on the steering wheel sends communication through the clockspring. If you're trying to add features (and thus buttons) to your steering wheel, you'll need to make sure there's the relevant interface on the clockspring that can send that along to the computer - in this case for ACC, a clockspring from an ACC-equipped Maverick would avoid having an incompatibility due to features the Escape has that the Maverick cannot have.

Essentially, you want a clockspring that will do everything your switches are designed to do, and nothing more, otherwise you run the risk of error codes, incompatibility, etc
