Still no reply from Ford. I would think with the size of this event, that the invitation list has been filled long ago. Oshkosh will be the worlds busiest airport for the next week!

Dang.

Yeah, I see what you mean. No sense in making the trip if you won’t be able to test drive it.

If he can't drive it I hope the 6'4" father in law can at least get a test sit. Does his knees hit his chin in the back seat. You know all the important stuff.

From the rest of us, thank you. If you are driving the XLT, find out if the orange pieces in the center console can be removed to replace with those from an XL. Still buying the XLT regardless.
They can. Its just a piece of rubber. I did it at the Chicago Auto Show.

Yeah, he says tight but liveable. From the photos that's complete BS. That's why I would trust somebody's father in law, who I don't know, a lot more.
That's also why I like so many others are waiting for reports from the general public. No matter what they say, writers get bennies from the manufacturers they review.

My father-in-law said they weren't letting anybody drive it. It's just so weird since they actually had to sign ups for it

Ok - how often would 2 6'5 or 6'6 individuals be getting into a Maverick and sitting front/back? That would mean on the other side...there were 2 other individuals also that tall, otherwise the practical solution here is to just sit on the opposite side? Outside of an NBA team, the odds of more than 2 people that height also needing to get into and drive around in a Ford Maverick (or any vehicle for that matter) are astronomical!

with a shorter driver (5'8" maybe) the driver's seat could be moved several inches forward and a normal human would have more leg room in back seat.

This is true and my 5'7" self has no concerns. It also doesn't change that the media guy just spewed hot bs. If they just said "yikes this is really tight but we're both much taller than average" nobody would be like hey this truck sucks! But that they are so dead committed to salesmanship over all else is sad

That looked livable..in town and a short distance but you wouldn't want to be like that for hours....

Also where are the test drives????????????? Even Hyundai is playing that game... Don't want no Negative's until the consumer buys them first. They don't want to upset the tide of buyers drooling at the mouth

On a related note, it kind of baffles me that in a company of tens of thousands, ford couldn't find a 5'10"guy to memorize these vapid catchphrases. I don’t really pay any attention to what the company shills are saying in these videos, but the visuals can be very informative. Having a better sense of scale with a normal- sized person would go a long way for us, I think.
