  1. What age group Maverick owner / buyer are you?

So I got a email notice that Dohaman had quoted me from 14 months ago. Well I gave up in April and bought a Ridgeline, which was hard to find too. I've only seen one Maverick in the wild since I first posted. BTW, I'm on vacation and just down the street is a new Bronco. The owner saw me...
  2. Maverick Lariat pics: Alto Blue, undercarriage, wheel well tire clearance, water bottle pocket dimensions & test fits

Maybe the gimmicks are needed Dallas. But I like knowing the HP, MPG and that the high zoot model has twice as much sound deadening padding along with the acoustic glass as the base model. Of course that padding is hopelessly wished for. But that's the kind of stuff I'd pay for.
  3. Maverick Lariat pics: Alto Blue, undercarriage, wheel well tire clearance, water bottle pocket dimensions & test fits

Been sticking water bottles in my doors and console for over a decade. What's the big deal? Tailgate bottle opener? I have one as a belt buckle.
  4. XLT Luxury vs Lariat non-luxury

I haven't placed an order yet, why because I just have to have a test drive first. My car is a Outback my wife's an S80 Volvo. Big difference in style and price. I'm happy driving the Outback but when I drive the Volvo it is just so much easier to drive and much quieter. An acoustic windshield...
  5. Just for fun- should we develop a “Maverick Wave”

Cops have their own "gang" sign too. You take your index finger and rapidly tap your chest twice and your forehead once. It means two in the chest, one in the head.
  6. Just for fun- should we develop a “Maverick Wave”

R series Beemers have a secret handshake. K series riders have no acknowledgment from Beemers, Harleys, Rice burners or Scooters. They are a hopelessly lost tribe. The R boys won't show them the handshake either.
  7. Back seat folding design

I just hope the seats, seat backs and the storage trays are easy to remove. And easy to put back in too.
  8. Ford Maverick, the new Black and Decker Cordless Drill :-)

I surely hope the Maverick is better built than the Black and Decker consumer grade tools.
  9. How long before you give up?

What else is out there? My wife wants me to buy a high zoot Ridgeline. I'm leaning toward a Maverick, if it's quiet and comfortable enough during a test drive, which means a wait for a dealer demo. But Ridgelines are unavailable around here anyway. Chevy has shut down production, Ford has...
  10. Any Future Maverick Owners Here in NOVA??

Already retired a long time. I have a perfectly good Outback so I'm willing to wait for a test drive. Not willing to pay over MSRP. My wife wants a Ridgeline so this Maverick has to be really comfortable. I like that I can order just what I want, unlike some brands. Of course Ridgelines are not...
  11. Be aware of the Tailgate Weight Rating

Looks to me like he went way to fast over a really big bump. A$$holes learn the hard way.
  12. Maverick Bed Dimensions Taped Off On 5.5ft F-150 Bed For Comparison Sake

It will fit a Honda Cub or Vespa straight into the bed. A dirt bike at an angle. That's enough for me. I have trailer for big stuff, maybe once a year.
  13. My OCD checking aftermarket parts for 2022 Maverick. Am I the only one?

Not even the media reviewers have driven one yet. The aftermarket needs a truck to try the parts out on. I wouldn't want parts fitted by guesstimate.
  14. Autoline: Maverick Could Become a Cult Classic (roundtable discussion w/ Maverick marketing manager and chief engineer)

I fit that old guy profile. Had big trucks and small trucks. I've been waiting for a new small truck for decades. I do think the young guys will go more for the hybrids and the geezers the ecoboost.
  15. What age group Maverick owner / buyer are you?

Well I'm the only 70 and up vote, so far. And happy about it too, considering the alternative.
  16. Bed height?

As usual I'm confused. I'd like to know the height of the bed with the tailgate down. The specs say lift in height, 30.1 inches and the pickup body height 20.3. My objective is to ride/push a small motorcycle/scooter into the bed using a ramp. It seems the answer is 30.1 but what's the pickup...
  17. Test Drives at EAA Airventure 2021 July 26th-August 1st in Oshkosh, WI

Yeah, he says tight but liveable. From the photos that's complete BS. That's why I would trust somebody's father in law, who I don't know, a lot more. That's also why I like so many others are waiting for reports from the general public. No matter what they say, writers get bennies from the...
  18. Age of targeted Maverick Buyer

PapaNer, these little trucks are just so damn versatile. Put a cover over the bed and you will be astonished at the mileage.
  19. Age of targeted Maverick Buyer

I see two demographics reporting here. The Ford targeted young, non-truck group. And us geezers who remember the versatility of the compact truck. A couple of months after buying my first house I bought a Isuzu. A great commuter plus enough of a work truck to do all that new house stuff. I've...
