I had been checking with my salesman every 3-4 weeks and knew my Maverick would arrive sometime soon. I'd had the VIN for a couple months and that was all I had to go on aside from the dealership's word. As far as tracking goes in Canada, we don't have much but my advice would be to get the VIN, sign up for a Ford account online, and enter the VIN into your vehicles section. Right around the time my truck was said to be scheduled to be built, my profile showed not just the VIN anymore, but an actual image of the truck I ordered, right down to the unpainted mirrors (non lux package XLT).
Two weeks ago I was told it was in transit and had made as far as the state of Illinois. I was told the ETA was 1st week of the new year but they often show up a week early. I drove by the store when I was in town the beginning of this week, nothing there yet then, but tonight we were in town and I spotted it. Went in for a closer look at the window sticker and it was my VIN.
It was 30 minutes before closing time and the sales staff were chatting at the front desk so I went in to see my salesman. He was quick to offer that I take it for a spin. It just came in today and have been through the shop for the provincial safety check but still has to go out for the spray in liner and through the shop again for my mud guards and tonneau cover. My girlfriend and I went up the road to the gas station and the salesman met us there to fill it up. We went for a 15 min drive before bringing it back. The finance office is already busy Tuesday as it's the first day back but I should be able to get there by end of day Wednesday.
The truck's details:
-XLT Hybrid
-Cactus Grey
-trailer tow hitch
-400w inverter
-bed tie down package with locking rails
Ordered Friday August 13th, was first scheduled for early November but then pushed back a few weeks and got moving when the rest started to earlier this month. I don't know of any other hybrids delivered in Canada based on message boards and I kept close tabs on local inventory listed on Ford.ca with no indication any hybrids were in stock in the Maritimes. It is for sure the first at this dealership, they had 2 more in this delivery, both are Ecoboosts. I'd seen 3 more in the wild prior to these.
Hopefully I'll be adding more details and photos within a week! I'll be glad to answer any questions in the meantime.
