I just placed my order today and on the on-line build it said the luxury package has a spray in bed liner. When the dealer did the build sheet it said drop in bed liner. When they tried to add the spray in, it dropped off the luxury package. Can anyone confirm what it actually is?

Only the Lariat luxury package gets a spray bed liner as of now, XLT luxury package gets the drop in bed liner. That’s the latest I’ve heard on the situation.

Ford dropped the spray in on XLT Lux because they can't get the materials needed to do them. I ordered XLT Lux, and did receive the spray in, because I ordered in August.

They might want to update their website. I was in machine tool sales for a number of years and whenever we had an issue like this, it always fell back on the distributor/dealer. Think I might push this just to be a pain.

Pushing it will not get you anywhere. XLT has drop-in now with the luxury package. That is your only option. Take it or leave it. This has been discussed all over this forum since Ford made the change last month.

I suggest working with your dealer to perhaps get some credit for the spray in by having them remove it upon arrival and getting a spray in done locally.

That's the push I speak of. I know Ford won't or can't do anything. But I can have fun with the local dealer. They even said they don't know why. Maybe they should stay up on the latest news. But either way, I am excited to get it for sure.

I would suspect as much. Not a big deal. The more reviews I see the more I actually like the drop in. Crazy how many DIY ideas are already flying around.

The drop in is what we will end up with. I'm seeing if it's true its a modular 5 pc. liner and good fit and finish. Not what I initially thought on my earlier posts.. Maybe pull off the bottom pc. yearly and clean underneath and check for paint rub or rust. I contacted weathertec and they make a product called the underliner to prevent possible paint rub from the drop in. It's very thin and easy to install. Not avaible yet but I'm sure it will be. The bottom may not cause issue if it truely is a separate pc. Weathertec will most likely design one for the Maverick if it's even needed. I saw on one post not sure it's true but it said the factory spray in is spayed over the paint and is not as durable as an aftermarket spray in. I still would like spray in but doesn't look good.

I had to get the drop in when I ordered my XLT Lux on 12/2. Im perfectly fine with keeping it since I plan on buying straps and bungies to keep stuff from sliding around.

My dealer contacted me and said the spray-in bedliner in the XLT luxury package would result in a delay, and asked if I wanted it changed to drop-in bedliner, and I changed it. As I understand it only the drop-in is available now.

That’s my fear from past experiences. Over time it will wear off the paint. That’s a good point on the factory spray in. At least the local guys can give you a thicker mix or an extra coat.

I ordered on Dec 9th, and my dealer also told me I was going to get the drop-in instead of the spray-in. But my dealer discounted the drop-in cost from my quote, and offered to do the spray-in for $599 once it gets here.

I guess another reason to get a spray in bed liner.

“Ford reports that the gasoline tank may have been damaged by drill holes during the installation of the bedliner.”
