mangoal type B dash camera wiring issue alert.

if you have a mangoal dash camera in your 25-26 truck and you used the Y harness to connect inline with the dome light harness you need to check and see if you loose functionality of your camera at night. I discovered mine would randomly do the boot up sound and say "start recording" when I passed under bigger dark bridges.
further investigation found at night it was not working, it gets power from pin 4 in the plug for the dome light, that pin is back light power and at night it has max with dash lights full bright, 8 volts. not enough to power the camera. you have to switch to pin 1 and on pin 12 you get a time delay of 10 minutes after turning off your truck before the camera powers down.

Thanks for the info Leon. I have just purchased the Mangoal Dash Cam, but I have not installed it yet. I have a 2022 Maverick Hybrid. Where is the circuit board you showed? Is it part of the fuse panel under the dash on the passenger side?

I bought a pre-made splitter for that connector from eBay and it connects to pin 12. I really like the 10 minutes grace period since I don't want to leave it running all the time anyway.

Good catch on the pin 4 wiring for the 25-26 trucks. Appreciate you sharing the details and photos.

on the 22 it uses a different connector and power sorce. the problem I found is with the harness for B type cameras for 25 and 26 year models.

So where is this circuit board? Is it underneath the cover at the mirror?

not a circuit board it is the "Y" harness the camera plugs into that plugs between the factory harness and the dome light assembly on 2025 and 2026 models.
older maverick use the type A system and it uses a differnt harness and may not have this problem so you are good to go with your 2022.
