Just joined AND door storage question

Hello all. Loving my new Maverick XLT 2wd hybrid since buying it six weeks ago. I’m in Minnesota. Also appreciating the great info in the forum.

I just noticed that the door storage area has more space than I had realized. Does anyone use the space marked in the picture and if so, how? (A holster comes to mind, but I don’t carry.)

What would be cool for 2A drivers would be to know the inner dimensions so a 3D printed custom fit holster could be printed and provide rapid access for a variety of tools.

I keep a short sized umbrella in mine. Comes in handy some days.

As a righty I like the ability to reach into the center console for my carry. I don't know how I'd feel having to reach down and to the left to grab something out of the door in a hurry.

That said, if someone made a quick detach system for something like a 13"-14" AR or one of those smaller PCC's that came with a concealment cover I'd be all over that. Be a whole lot better than reaching around in the back seat or trying to lift it up to get into it if something were to happen.
