I just placed my order. For anyone else looking at these, they are cheaper on Mangoal’s site than Amazon at the moment. And my 7-15 day standard shipping was free as well. Can’t wait to install these!

Yeah, going straight down the center of the headliner works fine and completely bypasses the side curtain airbags.

We don't have a video specifically for the middle-headliner route, but here are two videos showing the other common ways ust for reference:
  • Upper door frame video:
  • Lower route video (11:13):

I assume that the provided harness will be compatible with the power sunroof?
Yep, it works totally fine with the power sunroof.

Our harness actually taps into the power source behind the rearview mirror, not the sunroof plug. So whether your Maverick has a power sunroof or not doesn't change anything, and running the dashcam won't affect your sunroof operation at all.

I'm looking at the Mangoal Front 4K HDR Dash Cam STARVIS 2 for Ford 1st Gen Maverick 2022-2024(Model A) for my 2022 Maverick XLT.

My other option is the Mangoal 4K Dash Cam for Ford 1st Gen Maverick 2022-2024 (Model A). I don't want or need a rear camera. What makes the STARVIS 2 so much better to justify the $111 price difference?

I assume that both dash cams store data on their local MicroSD cards, correct? Are the MicroSD cards used in the cams the typical ones that can be purchased at any electronics store?

I was reading on the forum here that the GPS signal module can be placed inside the black plastic lane assist box to keep a clean look. Can you please confirm that I can use this space to hide it.

Even for front-only use, the main upgrade comes down to the Sony IMX678 STARVIS 2 sensor and hardware HDR/WDR. Night vision, low-light clarity, and reading license plates under heavy headlight glare are significantly better than standard 4K. It also upgrades the connection to 5GHz Wi-Fi, making video downloads to your phone much faster.

For storage, yes—everything is saved locally on the MicroSD card with zero subscriptions or cloud fees. You can pick up a standard card at any store, just make sure it’s rated U3 / V30 (up to 512GB) to handle 4K video write speeds.

For the GPS module, we don't recommend putting it inside the plastic lane assist cover since the electronics in there can block the signal. If you want a clean look without sticking it directly on the glass, you can mount it on the outside of the sensor housing like in the attached photo. It keeps things pretty hidden while still getting a fast, reliable GPS lock.
