I'm certain that this has been asked/answered but search is failing me so I'm asking it outright. Had an argument with the wife over this and it would be nice to find a working solution.

I like to use my Pixel 8 for maps (Waze) and my wife would like to play audio from her Pixel 8. We found that when my phone is plugged in, the Bluetooth option goes away.

Can we use one phone for mapping and another for audio at the same time?

Possibly,

When you have your AA running, tap out to Sync, and then change the audio source to the other phone, IF it will let you. AA may take over the BT connections with Sync.

Not familiar with a Pixel 8 but do use a Samsung S23 with Android 16 operating system. It connects easily with my Maverick Tremor via Bluetooth and Android Auto (Waze) navigation and streaming music. One phone Bluetooth connection music and navigation.

Totally different entertainment system from OP's 2024, unfortunately.

In the USB settings on the phone, there might be a variety of things it's allowed to do over USB, if you leave out media, it might free up that to be accessed by BT... not sure though, just thinking.

My intent seems to have gotten lost. I can play music, use Waze, etc just fine from my phone without issue. It does all of the things.

When my wife is with me and we are going on a road trip, she likes to play audio books for us to enjoy. They are on her phone only. I want to use my phone via the USB wire to use waze and my wife's phone to listen to audio books.

I do not have an issue with anything when it is just me and just my phone. I'm looking to use two phones at the same time and that seems to be an issue.

How your Sync works (version?) may be different from mine, Sync4. I have both phones connected via Bluetooth for music and navigation via Android Auto, you do need to pick which one of the 2 is used. I just enabled AA on Cathy's phone.

Here I have Audible and Android Auto displayed for nav. This is via Bluetooth from my Samsung S23, The first 2 photos show Ford Sync nav and Audible.

On my '23 I don't use AA, as it FORCES the audio through the Maverick speakers. I want to have navigation show up on the screen, but audio through BT earphones (which aren't occluding the ear canal).

People are also misunderstanding the old 2024 XLT entertainment setup. :)

I think *probably* you will not be able to do it as you describe, with Waze on the Ford display. I think any solution will involve you using your phone on a mount so Waze is on that display and the stereo is left to do stereo things. That presents two potential conflicts:

- Mandatory (maybe): You may have to disable your BT on your phone, so BT is available for your wife.

- Optional: If you want to plug your phone in for charging, you may have to disable AA so BT is still available for your wife.

Lastly, did you by chance try what KrS mentioned in post #2? Connect your phone via AA, then tap out to the Ford screen and choose BT as the source. Try and pair your wife's phone via BT and start playing an audiobook. Then go back to AA and to Waze. It is possible the AA connection will obliterate the BT connection with your wife's phone, or vice versa - but you'd sortof have to play around with it.

Old fart here mistook Google Maps for WAZE, and AA another Google map app/program. Ca5thy has the Tremor now but will try WAZE maps. Gotta drag my head out of the Garmin GPS stuff that I use in my F150.
