Don't sweat it at all, you're definitely not an idiot!
The best way to show off your new truck is to just make a regular post. Go to the Maverick Pictures / Videos / Media section, click the Post thread button at the top right, and give it a title.
Inside the message box where you type, look at the bottom and click the Attach files button (the little paperclip icon). That will let you pick the photos straight from your phone or computer and put them right in the post for everyone to see.
