Hello new truck owner

I just bought my first brand new vehicle EVER and i got the 2026 Ford Maverick Lariat Monday June 1st. It was the only one on the lot that had everything I wanted, the funny part is that no one knew it was there lol wow did I get lucky or what. So far I’m loving it, unfortunately I live in a very small town so for me to get to civilization I have to drive. 30 each way and that eats up the gas pretty quick and I’m on LOA from work so money is tight right now for gas. So I’m excited, happy and sad because I had to finance with a co-signer and I hope to not miss a payment but also had my dad not passed away unexpectedly 2 days after Xmas last year I wouldn’t have been able to get this. I thank him every time I see that beautiful truck in the garage and break down crying. Knowing he’d be proud I got another ford (3rd ) one. She had 1450 mls I almost have 1900

Thank you I did change the steering wheel cover and got a full set with seat covers and floor mats, I also changed the tire valve caps to a blue color. What do you have?

Oh this is where the MTC can get fun.
we all have “stuff”. Could be the more expensive things like bed liners or cover.
Could be simpler like bed lighting or soft close tailgate.
I have all above plus things like a bed net, a couple pieces of wood for a bed separator, underseat safe, jump start unit, tire inflator, side cubby power panel… the list goes on. Search around MTC for ideas, and others are willing to show the fun stuff they have done. There are interior locations 3-D printed pieces can mount, and the flex bed has that name for a good reason.

Second, hello and welcome to MTC. Congratulations on your new Maverick and Congratulations on your first new vehicle. Thanks for attaching the pictures it looks sharp. Yeah best not miss a payment, it's time to build your credit. If not even a cosigner won't help and to many missed notes that blue beauty may disappear (repo). Let's not go there. Let's think positive and hopefully either called back or a new job with better pay and benefits. Good luck.

On another note when you look at the truck and you cry remembering your dad it is actually a good thing (emotion). Yes the loss is bad but if he is in your memories and heart, is he really gone? Love is constant there is a loss, but love doesn't stop it continues.

You'll be surprised how much money you will save on gas, as long as you drive under 60mph.

So sorry about your father. I lost mine in March, 10 years ago. The first time it hit me hard out of the blue was Thanksgiving the first year. We used to watch Dallas play every year. I sat down and started watching the game and just started crying.

Sorry about your dad’s passing. Great to continue the Ford truck lineage.
My dad had a light blue ‘64 longbed V8 and 3 on the tree and I can still hear that transmission whine and the 3 second gap between shifts.
I’m sure many of us are following our family truck culture ha. Enjoy and please try to keep your finances organized. 50% higher gas prices are hurting millions of people. Peace.
