Seems a little much price wise, likely better off saving for a used cap instead if you are going that route.
Right, I was thinking the same thing about price. If it was half the price or included the tonneau for the current price I’d probably seriously consider it. Great idea though for people like me who can’t seem to decide between a cap or tonneau

Yeah it's not an easy choice to make. I went for the bed cover and a bed rack because I wanted to be able to put stuff in that would require taking a cap off, which is tricky to do on your own.

Recently just saw this “bed raiser” from a social media ad, not sure how I feel about it for the listed price but thought it was an interesting option.

I like it but kinda pricy. I have some aluminum 2x4 channel I could do that with but sealing around the window area would be tricky. I suppose nothing a few tube's of caulk couldn't fix. Or, you could go el cheapo and use wood 2x4s.

Put your ladder rack so it's hitch mounted:

Agree with this setup. Use a hitch extender as shown and a cab mounted roof rack for ladders. So much cheaper than a bed mounted system. Then you can use the bed cover of your choice.

I have really utilized the cap. Fit a king mattress with king frame under the MX mid cap. Hauling tools, shop vacs, luggage and cooler for home improvement a 3 hours drive away. A lot of recycling and dump runs. Vacations with 4 passengers and gear. 3200 for the cap was a great add for me.
