I wanted something that can haul full 4x8' sheets but also fit in my small garage---parking street side isn't a great option. But it also has Sync 4A and I would miss that on a different vehicle.

I'm still hoping for the Ranchero next year: same pickup utility but full BEV.

I didn't look at any other trucks. I've driven Porsches for the last eight years, first a Panamera and then a Macan. When it came time to trade in the Macan, I originally started looking at Panameras again, and had my financing lined up at an appropriate dollar amount.

I happened to be driving by the local Ford dealership during my search and randomly saw the most amazing looking Bronco Big Bend with the Freewheeling package sitting in the front row. The freewheeling package includes unique retro stripes down the sides and on the seats.

I stopped in and test drove the Bronco, and decided that afternoon I wanted it. Unfortunately that's when they announced the stop-sale on Broncos due to a freezing rearview camera. They literally couldn't sell it to me and didn't know how long it would take to get the fix.

But the Bronco got me looking closer at Ford products in general, and I found the velocity blue Lobo on their website at another dealer near me. I scheduled to drive the Lobo and ended up buying it the same day. I love the utility of it, combined with the looks, stance, and performance. It's over 100hp less than my twin turbo V6 Macan was, but only 0.6 seconds slower on 0-60mph due to the different power/weight ratio.

I am absolutely in love with the Maverick, even with all its little quirks. Plus I saved a ton of money!

That Bronco is still sitting on the lot as of today...

Hey everyone,
I’m pretty new to the Maverick community and was curious what made people here choose the Maverick instead of other compact or midsize trucks.
Was it:
  • Fuel economy?
  • Hybrid option?
  • Price/value?
  • Daily drivability?
  • Truck utility without full-size truck size?
  • Mods/community support?
  • Would also be cool to hear what trims and setups everyone ended up going with and how ownership has been so far. Looking forward to hearing different experiences.
I'm only 5' 3" actually tried a Ranger first, nope. LOVE LOVE my Maverick tho.

I was not in the market for a new vehicle. My ten year old Jeep Cherokee with 141k on her was running like new. Still looking good too. But I started thinking about how much longer that would be true. Then saw a Maverick and wondered what it was. A guy at the gym let me drive his new one. We went straight to the dealer after that. Another dealer had exactly what I wanted and I test drove it for an hour. Bought it the next day. It has been the absolute BEST VEHICLE I have ever owned in 50 years of driving!
I’ve hauled 10’ walnut, cedar, downspouts, 7’ cabinets, generators, towed a trailer full of gravel at 2000 lbs and right now have a full size tool chest in the bed to go in my new shop tomorrow. Utilitarian, good looking and 37mpg with AWD! PERFECT‼ She does everything I ask of her.
Maggie is a 2025 EG Hybrid AWD 4KT 37 mpg wonder 🛻‼👍👍✅

I was buying a utility vehicle that I could daily drive to work/etc. and be economical. I have a small utility trailer that I use too on occasion. Since my trailer is only good for 1200 lbs and the truck without a towing package can do 2000 lbs, the hybrid version was a perfect match. Great fuel mileage and great utility. I also don't mind the comfort. I don't know that I'm in luxury but I'm definitely comfortable even on 3 hour + road trips.

I purchased the XLT with the safety package. I added wireless phone charging and a tailgate shock to lower the gate slowly. I also added a tanue cover which I have found does increase my fuel mileage. I'm working on adding adaptive cruise control and have started to amass the parts.

The fact that the Maverick was cheap too... "Shut up and take my money."

I needed a truck for utility reasons, and the Maverick offered a true hybrid powertrain. That was the clincher for me.
I have a steep asphalt driveway and never had a 4 wheel or all wheel drive. After not being able to get out until my driveway thawed when snow and ice hit, I sought an all wheel drive for the future. I didn't want a "need a step latter" model but one that had all wheel drive and good gas mileage. The number one item that steered me to Maverick was the Consumer Reports ranking of trucks. CR gave the second highest ranking of all trucks to Maverick in 2026. Only the Hyundai Santa Cruz was rated a notch above it. I've had a truck most of my life and I was ready to step down in size and money. I'm going on 3 months with my Maverick and so far it has met my expectations. Consumer Reports gave it a 4 out of 5 for both consumer satisfaction and reliability. I hope that rating holds up for mine.

Size, price and all-wheel drive. My last new truck was a Chevy Luv 4wd. Was a pretty good truck, but I got married and a child and needed a larger vehicle, so I got a car. Like that the Maverick has 4 doors makes it easier to take my dogs for rides.

I chose the Maverick because it is the perfect size since I don't haul that much and when I do, it is not much.
I hauled 30 1.5 cubic feet bags of Mulch last Year and 28 Yesterday [should have bought 30 again]!! I might go back Today and get 2 more bags for 4 little plants I didn't get done Yesterday!!

I never planned on buying a truck until
I saw the Maverick. I was in the market for a vehicle and was fully expecting to buy a Kia Niro. The used car prices were out of control so I got a brand new vehicle with more capability for a lower price. The rest is history!
Very similar to my experience. When Ford announced the Maverick hybrid I became very interested. I waited patiently (18 months) for my (ordered in '22; delivered in '24) Lariat. My other contenders were the Niro and CR-V hybrids.

I love my truck-let. Lifetime (33k miles) mpgs are at 42.7; the vehicle has a Swiss-army vibe to it for my commuting/Lowes/biking life. I do wish the Lariat trim had memory, ventilated front seats. And I'd be all over a plug-in version as I had an Escape plug-in loaner from the dealer when they repaired some rear accident damage; perhaps when Ford does the heavy revision in '27-'28.

Always liked the idea of a truck growing up, never understood why they all had to be mostly huge and get 16mpg. Never really needed one for work so the gas mileage/size always kept me away from buying one.

I also drive a 2025 ram 2500 diesel for work so definitely see the appeal of the size now, if I had to pay for diesel never in a million years would I own one if it wasnt job related and paying for itself.

Someone finally made a caruck that gets good mpg, awd was a bonus, so I bought it, and glad I waited.

  • 22 Lariat, then 25 AWD W4k tow. Very capable truck and the base model is one of the least expensive.

Size: Actually fits in my garage.
Turbocharged: Turbos are fun, though it could use more power.
More of a car than a "truck": Handles and drives more like a car while still having enough truck capabilities.
