They can stand around it with their arms on the bed. That at least makes it Maverick sized.

I wonder if they will actually use the Ranchero name. I haven't seen it confirmed by anyone. I know Ford renewed the trademark, but companies will sometimes do that just to keep another company from using it even if they intend to never use it.

As far as a reveal goes, it's not revealing of much except perhaps marital status...

Unless it was Frumps hand... that would make it a Tonka toy - Dump Truck! 🤣

He’s like, how do I consummate this? There’s no tailpipe!
This reminds me of a coworker I knew in the 1970's. After dating this gal for 2+ years they got married. He was really down when he got back from his honeymoon. When he attempted consummating his bride said "What are you doing? You know we decided we would start our family in 2-3 years!". He went for annulment in about 18 months after she wouldn't yield.

He was on firm legal ground. No consummation = no marriage.
I'm amazed he waited so long.

Marriage to a truck has no such requirement, and although someone can have a marriage ceremony, (Erika Eiffel married the Eiffel Tower in 2007) there is no legal standing in the marriage to an inanimate object.

It does make me wonder if that may change once AI robots "appear" to have a life of their own...
To legally marry, both parties must sign a marriage license in the presence of an official and witnesses. Some current robots could likely do that already..

One of the interesting throwaway statements made by somebody at Ford about this truck was that "we're not going after a truck buyer, we're going after the SUV buyer". Now I paraphrased that, but I think I got it right?

If so, it has interesting implications - the designers might not feel so handcuffed by incredibly inflexible truck buyers - who 100% won't buy it if it doesn't look like three square boxes riveted together.

Considering that one of the reasons people buy a truck is that they ARE a flexible use vehicle, your assessment is questionable, and has already been produced.
The Ranchero and El Camino broke that ground long ago.

Myself, I've owned a couple of Subaru Baja's, and although there was a pickup bed, it didn't fit the typical truck format. Neither does (did) the Santa Cruz.

In any case, the fact that the goal is to go after the SUV buyer implicitly indicates that the design does not need to be the classic pick up truck format.

Well at least Doug was not wearing a Rolex in the photo. Simple watch so maybe he is sort of like the average Ford buyer and can identify with what we want????????? Yes!!
