Edit / SOLVED:

Took truck into dealership. They had removed wipers when they fixed a vent that was rattling. The tech didn’t reset the wipers properly. They took the truck into the shop 10 and in 10 minutes had recalibrated the wipers.

Hi Mav fam, any feedback would be appreciated. I know there are similar threads on here, but I haven’t seen too many recent ones.

This is my third Maverick and unless I’m losing my mind I don’t recall this being an issue. This is a 2025 lariat hybrid. The passenger side wiper blade will no longer return to its usual home position when you are done using the wiper function it no longer does that little drop to the off position if that makes sense.

I read the wiper should be at the dot on the glass which I circled in pink. Mine is definitely above.

Just curious if anyone else has this issue or if there is a no one DIY fix without time at the dealer. I believe in letting them fix anything that’s wrong since it’s under warranty, but it does take a lot of time for something that might be really simple.

Updated post with video of issue. Note it doesn’t return to home/rest after use, after the final “courtesy wipe”

Edit / Update
I took a picture of truck the day I purchased this Maverick and went back to look at — when you zoom in you can clearly see the wiper is in a normal position. now I’m curious what is causing it? I did just complete the software recall updates for the trailer and the parking module- or whatever it was.

There is a known safety recall (NHTSA 24V594000 / Ford Recall 24S51) affecting some 2023-2024 Mavericks regarding the windshield wiper motor. Water intrusion can cause the motor to fail or the "park" switch inside the motor to malfunction, leading to erratic movement or the wipers stopping mid-windshield.

Sometimes the wiper module simply needs a reset cycle.
The Procedure:
Turn the ignition to the ON position.
Turn the wipers on and let them cycle normally.
While the wipers are running, turn the wiper switch to OFF.
Wait a few seconds for the motor to reach its internal "park" position.
Turn the ignition off.

I appreciate that information. This is a 2025. I wonder if there is a similar issue?

No, the windshield wiper motor recall NHTSA 24V594000 (Ford Recall 24S51) does not apply to 2025 or 2026 Ford Maverick models.
That specific recall is limited to certain 2023–2024 Maverick vehicles produced between June 20, 2023, and September 29, 2023.

In the video I don't see your driver side wiper moving slightly down into the park position either or maybe it just doesn't show that on the video? When going into park my driver side moves down just a little and the passenger quite a bit more.

Exactly. That is the issue.

If it stops consistently at the same place, just remove the wiper and adjust it down to the correct spot. That’s what I did to mine. Fixed. You may need a wiper puller to get it off. I did.

Had to do this when my windshield was replaced a few months ago. This is best done with someone in the driver’s seat in addition to the one adjusting the wiper arms, to gauge when the arms park in the appropriate place.

Is your Maverick still under warranty?
