Well then, I don't trust AI at all but in this case it sounds logical.
I couldn't find any evidence of an outright ban.

Strict Russian sanctions were implemented in 2022. Somehow Forscan slipped between the cracks

It is illegal to buy Russian Vodka in the US due to Executive Order 14068 (issued March 11, 2022) still in effect…

Consumer software from Russia is still allowed to be purchased however. Forscan is cool to purchase.

I’m not going to ask AI “how to hack into computers using Forscan”.

Also, I feel very happy and not feeling suicidal. Luckily I don’t stand near windows in high rise buildings

No. Just my gaming laptop and it isn't even working properly any more. My work laptop has no personal data on it and my MacBook has no work data on it (and not compatible with Forscan). I'm pretty anal about data security since I work in the industry.

Fix your gaming computer. I’m 70 hours into “Crimson Desert” and the graphics are best in world

On a semi-related comment, a friend of mine was on a jury that couldn't reach a verdict.
A guy was charged with murder of someone who was stabbed, shot and thrown out a window.

The holdout juror was convinced it was a suicide.
She said he could have been cleaning the loaded gun with a knife in his hand, the gun fired, he stabbed himself as a reaction to the gunshot and then jumped out of the window.

The self inflicted double tap seems nearly logical by comparison.

Really? And it populated all the modules when you did the scan? From recent uses of that cable in other forums, it would not read all the modules in the network. It has been considered obsolete for a very long time now. FORScan no longer lists it as a supported device on their website.

There were a couple of things I couldn’t do so now I’m realizing it was probably the cable. Just bought a new Vlink one and will try that when I’m home next week. Thanks!
