Spent my first career in military aviation (C130). Still subscribe to Aviation Week. I've been watching the VTOL industry progress. Lots of startups. At various stages on the path to either bankruptcy or commercial service.

A good summary is that VTOL is coming. Commercial first. Personal (at least safe personal) following much later. A huge question is whether or not our regulatory agencies can keep our skies from becoming a noisy, congested mess. I live in the WNC mountains and treasure the clear, quiet skies above. Hope they stay that way.
