How do you guys expect the 2028 redesign upgrade?! Exterior only
One can only hope that the rookie designer(s) of the repulsive refresh are no longer working at Ford and that they have taken jobs at Toyota or Hyundi.

The new front end definitely looks better in person. Not as innovative as the alternate that was under consideration, though.

Gee, if they built that it'd be the Santa Cruz selling like hotcakes and the Maverick the one getting canceled. 🤢🤢🤢

Only weirdo's on internet forms find the refresh repulsive. The 2025 Maverick refresh was a record setting year with over 155K sold. Sales of the truck were almost a 20% increase over 2024 units sold.

All the keyboard warriors who proclaimed: FoRd RuInEd ThE mAvErIcK iT'S sO uGlY nO oNe Is GoInG tO bUy OnE oF tHeSe sAlEs ArE gOiNg To TaNk were clearly wrong as sales actually improved for 2025 and it had the highest totals of any year since it was introduced.

I don't like it, but I bought a 2026 anyway. It looks as if they didn't have time to do it right, so they just slapped a panel over what was there. It isn't integrated into the front panel; it just sits on top.

Yeah, sorting out supplier and production bugs had nothing to do with the increase in sales.

The redesign was universally praised & garnered many prestigious awards. Surely the designers were promoted. Corner offices?

Dealers were allowed to sell the “stop sale” vehicles - but they could not let the customers take them off the lot.

Edit - nope, I’m wrong. Can’t sell “stop sale” vehicles duh

There are MANY factors that have played into the continuing successful sales of the Maverick, the goofy front design was certainly not on the list.

In fact, sales would have been even HIGHER had they not ruined the front end.

Universally praised???, Say what? The only "award" I recall seeing was on a "Ugliest vehicle refreshes" list.

Any styling awards? Which ones?
“Styling Awards” are judged by goofy judges. If cowboys were judges - Maverick would win hands down!

Anyone have snout snort decals to attach under the grille?

Eh, supplier issues were pretty much sorted out for the 2024 model year and Ford started really pumping out Maverick's without delays for 2024. And if you're going to use any alternate excuse I suppose you could say that adding AWD to the Hybrid could have helped boost sales.

However, any excuse is lame because it ignores the fact that they still had a record year of Maverick sales for 2025. When images of the 2025 refresh were leaked there people in this forum were projecting sales were going tank because it was so ugly and blah, blah, blah. People were acting like it was worse than the 1996 Taurus abomination of a redesign.

Meanwhile the actual sales stats don't lie. The headlights have a little lip underneath them, that's it. 99% of consumers probably didn't even notice it. There are far uglier cars, (I'm looking at you Lexus with your hideous grills and BMW with your kidney shape grills) that sell like crazy.

I didn't love the redesign of the Maverick at first but it was far from the worst thing I've ever seen and now after a year of seeing them it looks fine.

The redesigned Maverick is the only vehicle I know where the front matches the animal it was named for - although the Edsel may resemble Edsel’s girlfriend?
