Last order date to have received a VIN?

Just wondering what the last order date was to already have received their VIN. I ordered November 6th. Called Ford and they confirmed they received the order. No VIN yet, so was wondering how long that took. I am in no rush. I out of the country till April 6th. Was more just curious.

When you put in your order has almost nothing to do with when you get your VIN. The VIN is assigned when the truck is scheduled for production. There are people that ordered in June and have not yet gotten scheduled. The biggest factor in getting scheduled is what options you have selected and usually an ecoboost will get scheduled quicker than a hybrid.

Ford tries to schedule based on when the components to build the vehicle will be on hand. Even then there are unforeseen logistic issues that can delay a build.

I was originally scheduled for 11/15 on my 07/09 order. Am still waiting for production to actually start.

" 11/09 01/10 11/18 SUB TO PLANT " whatever that means.. Ford Tracker still showing it order confirmed 11/09. No clue when to actually expect delivery.. based on what I read, March could be a realistic date?

2.0L XLT with 4K tow and FX4. I opted to not get a bedliner from Ford but to have the dealership get it Line-X'ed aftermarket locally. Same with heated seats, they are being put it in by a local shop that deals with this dealership.

Only thing I can think of as to why it would be faster is that I called to a few dealerships and this one happens to be the biggest in the area. They told me they had better access to pre-order spots compared to smaller dealerships. Not sure exactly how that comes into play.

Clean, easy build without constraints with a high volume dealer and available allocations can equal fast scheduling and VIN. This is how it's done folks if you want yours fast.

Got my order confirmation Aug 2nd. Received build date for Feb 7th this morning (Dec 9).
Alto Blue Hybrid XLT lux with 360 and moon roof.

Probably breaks down to November 9th when the order was actually submitted and on November 18th (makes sense; scheduling Thursday) was scheduled for week of January 10th. 'SUB TO PLANT' being that Ford has sent the build information to the factory. Barring production delays mid-February to early March is likely a reasonable guess for delivery.

Congrats on getting your build date. I ordered my Oxford White Hybrid XLT LUX CoPilot360 a week after you.. Hopefully I get my build date soon.
