I got this from someone with a really nice AWD Maverick with 4k tow. ;) 108mph on their 245 65 17s tires corrected for size means 111 mph. No definitive GPS verification at this time. I will work on getting this from them in the near future.

They said this did not feel like all of their GM products that cut off at 112mph, and feel like they shut down hard once you hit that number like you were hitting a wall until you slow down and it catches up. Driver said this Maverick just kind of floated at that speed, not going faster but without that forceful cutoff feel.

Driver said it was completely stable and not scary whatsoever They said it felt like it had more to give. It was definitely was not in the RPM danger zone. It looks like it was in Sport mode and quite chilly.

It must have been smooth for them to take this picture at that speed.

My 06 159 did that. You could hold it floored and it would just ride the top speed

I don't think I have the balls to take a picture of my dash going that fast.😳

I'm driving my Maverick right now and just tried to max it out, but it wouldn't go past 108 mph. I have 255/45/20 tires. I have the 2.0 turbo, front wheel drive, no tow package, and it was in sport mode. Does anyone know why the speedometer goes to 140 if I can only go 108?
I wonder what the free-fall terminal velocity is for the Maverick? 140? ;)

It is governed to a max of 110 or so. The throttle will cut off at or near that speed holding to that max. I think someone posted that information some time ago.

You might do a search and find it.

That's fine but that still doesn't explain why the speedometer goes to 140 if it only maxes out at 110...?
Every car I’ve ever had had Speedo that went higher then the car would run stock. Go figure.

108 and it still felt comfortable at that speed

I've never tried to max out a vehicle before now, so I can't say if that was the case in my vehicles. Like I said to the other guy replying, if the truck can only go 110, the speedometer should max at 110. It's misleading!

Is there any way to remove the governor that limits it to 110?
I am certain it could be. I’m thinking with one of the tunes that are being offered now.

Perhaps @Buschur can chime in.

He’s a longtime Ecoboost modifier that offers bolt on mods for the MAV. I don’t think he does the engine tunes, but would definitely know.

If you mean it will go 140 just gliding down a mountain with no gas, I highly doubt that...

If this thing tops out at 110, then the speedometer should only go to 110, simple
Never seen a car that didn't have a speedo that went to less than 120 ;)

The speedo goes to 240 because the warranty department wants (10%??) Leeway requiring replacement from having people pegging it! 🤗
