Anyone by chance have experience with a bed extender box? Not just the tube rail style bed extender but something with solid surfaces and squared shape. The only one I’ve found so far is from the link below.

https://www.ez4x4.com/collections/e...nd-secure-truck-bed-box-storage-by-ez4x4-copy

Primary intended use case is to fit multiple sets of skis & snowboards, longer building materials etc. I like the concept of this box but there’s not much review content that I can find on the product itself or anything like it. Trying to avoid extra bed rails and cargo box with a bit of multi purpose frugality in mind. We don’t have much space at home to store a cargo box in the off season. Plus it seems cumbersome to remove bed rails and ski box to regain full use of the bed while we're in snow season.

The EZ 4x4 brand box seems that when it’s folded into the bed, it’s a lockable enclosed bed divider. When it’s open/extended it’ll more safely keep longer length materials (like multiple sets of skis) from falling out compared to tube style bed extender. We currently just have a soft tonneau cover. I haven't seen any other particularly elegant/secure solutions to carry multiple skis/snowboards without a ski box of some sort.

Thoughts, alternative products, DIY ideas I’ve missed? Just bite the bullet for rails and ski box?

I appreciate that very similar idea! But it seems that product isn't yet launched for sale (at least according to Maxzina's comment that it's not finished). I'd be very curious the price they launch at and if it'll launch soon before resorts start opening.

I saw a review on FB but that may have been a test vehicle. I would like to know the price and ETA for it also.

Per Maxzina's FB page. "
Update for tailgate extender

The product has been produced and is expected to be shipped to Amazon's warehouse next week. The logistics time takes about 20 days.Maybe 15th-20th Dec. "

I really like that concept, but the link you give is for the big boy F series, not Maverick. I can't seem to find this EZ 4×4 product for Maverick. Help.

I didn’t update this but after measuring and double checking, they do not offer one to fit Maverick.

I emailed their CS and received this reply on 1/13/26.

I spoke with the owner and he said they should have them in 1-2 months.

Kind regards,

thanks for the update! I got the Maxzina bed extender in the mean time for the launch price. It's a decent holdover for now.
