I realize this is a hot topic and I have searched these forms but my old brain just can't quite understand how to go about replacing the OEM bulbs with LED's to avoid Hyperflash. For this I appolige in advance but I really need some help in understanding what bulbs I need to replace the reverse lights, Brake Lights including the 3rd Brake Light, the clear lights in the 3rd brake light housing, and possibly the front and back turn signal bulbs. I really dont want to have to use Forscan to turn the bulb out Hyperflash or to install resistors into the wiring for the lights. I'm looking for LED bulbs that I can use to replace he incandesent bulbs with. Also Lasfit bulbs are almost impossible to get here in Canada. Just want to avoid Hyperflash
Thanks for your help

There's at least a dozen threads on the LED hyperflash problem and you can search those if you need more than my two cents.
There aren't any LED's brake lamps available that have built-in resistance. LasFit promoted and sold what they called their solution, but they only worked for a short time or not at all. You can find some LED lamps with built-in resistance from other manufacturers, but the docking mechanism on the bulb will need some minor modification as in filing down one of the pins. Your other option is to add a separate resistor to a regular LED lamp that does fit without the docking mod. There's enough room in the tail light assembly to add the resistors, but some folks are reluctant to perform the extra wiring. I've done the same on my motorhome and it was fine, but like others, I prefer plug n' play.

The only thing that hyper-flashes is the indicator on the dash. The rear & front turns signals still flash at a normal rate. If the dash indicator hyper-flashing bothers your you can use FORSCAN to turn off the hyper-flashing. It's just done as a way to let you know there is a bulb out. The computer thinks there is a bulb out cause the LEDs don't draw near as much current as an incandescent bulb.

I did the full Lasfit kit and Diode Dynamics rear taillight LED bulbs, and disabled hyperflash with Forscan. Zero hyperflash for me, everything works perfectly.

Caveat: I have a MY24 Lariat Hybrid

I may be able to assist with the 3rd Brake Light LEDs as I have replaced them on my truck.

For the white LEDs I have:
Amazon.com: LASFIT 921 LED Bulb Reverse Light, 912 T15 6000K White Canbus Error Free W16W 906 904 Backup Replacement Cargo Lights For Car/Trunk, 300% Super Bright, Pack of 2 : Automotive

For the red brake light, I have this on:
Amazon.com: LASFIT 921 912 LED Bulb Red, Third Brake Center High Mount Stop Light, Canbus Error Free T15 906 904 W16W LED Bulb Red 3rd Brake Lights For Cars/Truck, 300% Bright, Pack of 2 : Automotive

I did not buy the red version, but the white version as the lens cover is already red, and the red one cost more money. My brake light flashed 4 times and then goes steady. It repeats this sequence for each separate press of the brake pedal.

:geek: I’m going to wish you luck with those bulbs. I’ve had 3 different sets of bulbs and they all hyper flashed. I have a 2022 XL.

afaik, LED headlights and bulb replacements offer zero advantage, and cause other problems that need fixing in order for them to function.

Unless a vehicle is equipped with LEDs from the factory, it's kind of a fool's errand or enthusiast project to try to add them.

LED, HID, etc. do not give more or better lumens (if legal limits are not exceeded). And often they are of that annoying, nay, VIOLENT blue spectrum that blinds everyone else on the road, especially if the legal lumen limit is exceeded. Makes me wish I had a FGM 148 mounted on top sometimes.

I used LED bulbs to replace every old school standard resistant bulbs . I used resisters for the front and rear turn signal lights and everything works great. I followed a youtube guy doing the exact thing and it's no big deal. You can do it!

I didn’t have to use resistors at all, just used Forscan.

For 3rd brake light I've been testing this 3-strobe brake light.
Only needs to be white because OEM is white too.
Same size color as the high backup lights too.
No dash warnings yet.
Seems brighter - keep forgetting to take picture on same block location I have a before pic.
There are other non-strobe versions for the sizes needed elsewhere.

Good luck with these. I know from experience that do work for a short period of time and then they will just stop working. Maybe a certain lot was manufactured slightly differently and yours will be fine. Please get back to us in a couple weeks as this has been a re-accruing issue for the Maverick hybrids.

Replacing the 3rd brake light with an LED has not had a problem with hyperflashing because it doesn't blink on/off as would a turn signal lamp. I have the strobe style in my 3rd brake light and appreciate the extra warning it gives to traffic. First saw the concept on a Subaru (OEM, I think) and liked it.

So their version that are correct size for turn signal lamps and not strobe style - might still have the too low voltage to throw an error?

After I test the brightness if decently better on brake light - I was going to test the 2nd one in the side backup light, maybe the upper one, see if that much better.
Wasn't going to worry about the turn-signal lamps replaced though.
