Why do we think Ford did away with Eruption Green?

I can't help but think of "Meet the Parents" when talking about a green car. The scene where Greg pulls up to Pam's house to, you know, meet the parents, and Jack noticed the green Taurus they rented.

"What are drivin' there, a Ford?"
"Uh yeah, it's, uh, Taurus. We were gonna get a mid-size but I figured, hey, hold down some decent bucks, might as well go all out and pop for the full-size."
"Interesting color. You pick it?"
"Oh, no. The guy at the counter. Why?"
"Well, they say geniuses pick green. But, you didn't pick it." 🤣

The Escape I sold to buy my first Maverick was Sedona Orange. I really liked that color.

What you don't think 6 different grays and 4 different whites are color choices? :cwl:
I honestly wonder how many people would care if they were all merged into space white metallic with no price difference. Let's have green, yellow, blue, red, and metallic purple Maverick all at the same time.

For me, it was I like the eruption green, but Ford should be blue, so I chose blue.

I went to look at a chili pepper red xlt. I had a Red Hot Silverado with the rally stripes and BAP. My 92 Ranger was red with silver rockers. I like red trucks. But I saw a Atlas Blue metallic Lariat and walked over to it. 2 days later I was driving it home. First blue car I have owned although my late wife had a blue Jeep.
Late wife? I'm so sorry to hear that. Your blue Mav is a tribute to her.

Green is just not popular. According to Edmonds statistics 81% of new vehicle sales are made up of these 4 colors: White @ 25%, Black @ 22%, Grey @ 20%, and Silver @ 14%. No other color tops 10%. Ford is not going to discontinue a popular color. ✌
Yeah, on sporty vehicles you can sometimes get away with it but bright colored vehicles (in general) are harder to sell which means lower resale/trade-in values. Younger folks tend to like the brighter colors and some of us older folks have been there, done that and paid the price. To my eyes the green isn't as bad as the orange/yellow Ford colors on a Maverick, with the bright blue somewhere in between. To each their own and if you don't care that much about resale value get whatever color you want.

Seems like a popular color.
Same as Cactus Grey. Special colors is less for one year because they can’t set up painting for all those different colors that cost is too much. It’s like a special one year deal for most colors that are different.

Wish we had selections today like in 1970.

My mother bought the 1st year Maverick back in 1970. Was a darker blue and was a salesman's vehicle. Her 1st car. Parents had station wagons from 1957 on and the Mav was her car to get to work. My father was a Ford guy, never had anything else. His 1st was a model T... 1st I remember was the 1954, but see a 1950 in some old pictures. My father always wanted a country squire wagon... Finally bought one... A Pinto Country Squire..... lol

It was always to be a one year only color. They stated it from the very first day it was offered. I personally think manufacturers need to offer more vibrant colors like it. In the 1970's and earlier, they offered more vibrant color choices. Then they gradually got rid of the fun colors and went drab
Ford has already announced that eruption green will not be available on the 26. Google 2026 Maverick, it's all there.

I got cactus grey because it was a leftover 24, hybrid with the options I wanted. Desert sand was my first choice, cactus grey second and eruption green third. Must say, the gray doesn’t show dirt or film. I’ve also had several compliments on the color.
