My blackout maverick with a blackout F150 Lariat powerboost. The F150 powerboost has way too much kick when it goes to gas engine for my liking

I've been driving a black truck since 1994. I have a black Mav Tremor (and a subscription to the local touchless carwash) Black trucks look awesome🖤

My previous Bronco Sport was Shadow Black,
Loved it.
Way way too hot in the summer sun,
A bitch to keep clean,
The Bad Boy look for sure,

I really liked owning it for four years.
It was my first Black vehicle,
And my last.

Owned my Hot Pepper Red Mavrick for nine months now.
Only washed it four times. I’m good.

I never ever thought I’d hear a guy, any guy say, “The F150 powerboost has way too much kick when it goes to gas engine for my liking.”

No hate to black cars and on some, it really can be the best color, like my Volt where it helped hide some of the egregious plastic trim they used! But the cleanly thing is real, gravel roads are your nemesis!

After two back to back black cars, I wanted to change it up and add some color to my life so I ended up with a…checks notes… carbonized grey Mav. 😂 Would have honestly preferred blue or Cyber Orange but when a cheap, fully loaded, low mileage Lariat winds up in your lap when you need a new to replace a broken car, you take the grey. 🙃

I agree. When I drive an F150 power boost, it's blatantly obvious when the engine comes on and shuts off , especially when sitting still or just creeping along. With the Maverick, I have to actually listen for it. Its only obvious at idle because you hear it come on. You don't really feel it nearly as much as with the power boost. Maybe you just can't conceal a V6 starting and shutting off because of it's size

Would not own a black vehicle. Impossible to keep clean. It gets to 100 plus sometimes here in the summer. Would take 30 minutes for ac to cool interior down to tolerable temp. Never been able to understand the fascination some people have for black.

I don't live in the sun belt and my truck is parked in a garage and gets frequent baths. Not a problem. :like:

Some vehicles look simply beautiful in black. I just don't have the discipline to maintain it. That's why I wouldn't own one. But when I see one that's well cared for, I'm almost always in admiration. I could tolerate black upholstery as long as it's not leather or vinyl. But the Florida heat would make a leather or vinyl seat unbearable. But it would still look nice😅

I made a big mistake with my first Maverick got the grey, I now have a black Lariat and loving it, I have had black cars and trucks for 30/40 years, if you keep them waxed/ceramic coated they always look clean, nothing sticks, water rolls off, I keep a spray bottle of water in vehicle I spray and towel off once in a while Truck always looks clean, takes 5 mins. I go to car wash once in a while for the FREE vacuum my partner sheds like crazy, even though I brush her daily their vacs are super powerful.

Instead of using water, try Adam's Waterless Wash. It's my favorite thing to use for touch ups. It has slippery stuff in it that keeps you from scratching your paint. It's on Amazon, if you're interested.

Black looks very nice. I Love it on OTHER people's vehicles😅 . I just personally don't have the discipline. I'm not that big a fan of the white that I have. But it's more forgiving of a missed car wash than Black.
