Another way to get the weight of the wheel is subtract the weight of the tire from the total weight of the wheel/tire combo.. I think you can get the weight of the tire from the tire manufacturers specs. IDK, just a thought. Sorry, but your 30.5 lbs is just for the wheel or is that the weight of the wheel&tire?
Weight for the wheel only.

I subtracted 26 lbs for the listed weight of the Wrangler HT. I also subtracted off the weight of me because both my scales require feet on the scale to to register:)

Cool to see what the back of the wheel looks like!
I was a bit surprised to see the “fan fins” back there. I was expecting a flat dull surface. Saw a lot writing/markings in my picture that is too blurry to read. Going to check it out when I rotate down the road:)

There is a “fan” on the inside, cool. Can’t remember where I heard/read “Moonstone”, but I’ll refer to them as their rightful name - Turbofan!

Time to weigh these big boys…

THAT is pretty cool. I did not expect the fan blades on the backside of the wheel. Like my, I think most people thought it was just the "look" of the wheel. Turns out there is a real reason for it.
Thank you for your effort and posting.
Also thanks to the person that posted the links of the history of the TURBOFAN wheel.

They’re lighter than I thought!

So I’m thinking 30.5 lbs per wheel. That is not too shabby.

OZ Racing makes a high end & strong “turbofan” rally wheel - and it weighs 26.7 lbs.
Thanks for doing this, and the pics.
~30.5 isn't terrible for an OEM, 19" wheel.

I wonder if those fins help with brake cooling, since the face of the rim is otherwise quite blocked off from fresh intake from the front side?

30lbs is definitely on the heavier side when you consider how narrow the rim is, although truck wheels tend to be heavier in general. I'm curious how much the optional spoked wheel weighs.

The original purpose of the turbofan wheel was for brake cooling. Catlitos_92 in post #12 shares a great link to the history of the turbofan. Invented for brake cooling - banned for pro use because too aero:)

Info on internet points towards a weight of 37lbs for the optional spoked wheel. I was expecting the Turbofan to be a 40lb boat anchor and was pleasantly surprised.

30# isn't terrible for OEM on a 'pickup'.
FocuST OEM snowflakes were 25#: (stock wheels = 18x8.5, 55mm offset, 25#)

You can get aftermarkets in the upper teens - low twenty pounds, depending on size ofc.

Taking 8# off at every corner likely would make a difference in handling/efficiency/torque application, but i still like the Ford Turbofans..

These wheels are reminiscent of Ronal Turbo wheels that Mercedes 190e, BMW e30 and VW GTI guys used to sport in the late 80's early 90s.

Thanks for bringin this back to the top, I was looking for stock Lobo wheel weight again. :p
Looking at wheels once more..

56.5 lbs for stock Wheels and Tires+TPMS/valves.
30.5 - 18.6 = 11.9 lbs less per Wheel
11.9 * 4 = 47.6 lbs less Total of wheel wt

18.6 + 29 = 47.6 lbs per Konig wheel + 245/55R18 tire
56.5 - 47.6 = 8.9 lbs Saved per wheel and tire
8.9 * 4 = 35.6 lbs Saved Total of wheel+tire wt

That is a lot of weight savings for unsprung, driven weight. While still upgrading to a much better tire/compound

This gunna be goooood. ;)

single digit % change in performance, objectively.

but subjective 'gains' in 'driver experience', which is likely the more important aspect of this decision, for me.
