Yesterday out of nowhere the Seatbelt reminder chime is now coming on as soon as the Key Fob unlocks the vehicle even when no one has entered the truck- It now also goes off when exiting the vehicle until you hit the key fob lock - I have no idea what is causing this- Any ideas ? Thx-

Does it tell you what seat is causing it? Sometimes when someone puts something heavy in the center of the back seat of my Maverick, it triggers the seat belt warning indicator to go off until it gets moved or someone buckles the back middle seat belt...even though no one is actually sitting there. But the screen tells me which seat is causing the warning.

No- Its doing this with the vehicle Off/Not running - It also double honked at me while I had the keys in my pocket with the vehicle off -

FYI
Driver's Side Seat Buckle Replacement Campaign:
Some 2023 Ford Maverick models are subject to a customer satisfaction program (Campaign #24N08) for driver's side seat buckle replacement, indicating another potential issue with seat belt components in newer vehicles.

That has come to mind-If it persists might get that done to see if that helps.

This happened to my '23 Mav Lariat. The dealer had to replace a rear seat belt sensor under warranty.

Cool- Are the seatbelt and sensors covered under warranty for more than the 3 YR/36K bumper to bumper ?

I do not believe they are. Not power train or corrosion or emissions so would fall under the 36/36. But if it is doing it with the engine off and honking at you it sounds like it is more than a sensor. Possibly low battery voltage?
Battery is good- Its interesting that its only happening when the drivers door is opened.

No other doors cause it to happen?
Correct- Strange I know- Made an appt next week to at least get the seat belt buckle replaced under the customer service program.

I think it is 5 years 60,000 coverage. Found this from a Ford dealer:
https://www.conwayfordinc.com/blogs/3218/six-things-that-are-covered-under-fords-standard-warranty/

Good luck!
Cool - I was thinking Safety/Restraint systems would have a longer than 36 month warranty - On our 7 year old electric car I had to dig around a little but found the airbags in the steering wheel were upgraded to an 8 year warranty due to some previous issues. That saved $1500 easy. Good to know- Thx

Turns out the constant chiming had nothing to do with the seat belts at all- It appears somehow/someone moved the light switch from A/auto to whatever the setting is below it- Noticed a light icon on the dash cluster that is not normally there and thought hmm- Moved the switch back to A/Auto and no more chimes- Yay

In my 2025 XLT that I've had for about a month now, I've twice had the seat belt sensor go off when I'm driving and buckled in. I'm not 100% certain, but I think it indicated that it was the driver's seat (I had a passenger up front at the time). Unbuckling and re-buckling(multiple times) eventually solved it.

But I've had the sensor go off for other seats due to there being something heavy on them, too.
