I love my truck, but it's just a vehicle. One in a long line of vehicles that I've owned. It's not my first and it won't be my last.

After an accident that left my 14-year-old SUV totaled I started looking for a different vehicle. I began researching what I may want. Realizing that used car prices are still wacky and being offered a bad deal from a parent, I ran across the maverick platform. I didn't want a ford (I have been a chevy guy for decades). I have a 05 avalanche and thought about Colorado but wanted something even smaller and the hybrid was very tempting. I looked at 24's but they were under stop sale and AWD was not an option with hybrid I found multiple vehicles at dealers and began negotiations. After a back and forth via text I went to a dealer an hour away to do the deal. It was a long process even though I had financing, but I drove home happy. I immediately began modding and customizing but always want functional updates.

At the end of the day its a vehicle, a tool. I will take care of it but its a tool to enhance my job and life.

October 19 2023. Went to the dealership met with my salesman and did some paperwork. He had the truck driven to the front so I could see and sit in it. I told him not to remove the plastic off the back seats. They took it back to the prep area and I went back to the finance office. After signing to many pages I left and got in my new truck. It was raining of course just like all but two of my other 4 new vehicles. I wonder how many other people experience that it seem to rain when bringing home their new vehicle ?

My Mav arrived at dealership 3/3/23 (ordered 10/13/21, long story!) Picked it up 3/6/23, love it!!

10/6/23, 620 days after my initial order was placed, in the overcast parking lot of @Granger Ford.
Garrett was well worth the wait. I have over 20k miles on my "me size truck" now.

Ordered on 10/25/21 and picked up on 11/2/22

After signing all the paperwork to purchase my new Ford Hybrid Maverick the dealership finally gives me the keys - and a stack of paperwork.

I happily walk to my new truck, open the door, get in, put the key in - turn the ignition and - nothing. dash is lit up - but nothing (silence).

I remove the key and look at it - put it back in the ignition and do it again - still nothing!


I finally realize this is a hybrid vehicle and it is in electric mode. I push the brake, turn the drive dial and it moves!

I felt pretty stupid - especially after reading all the posts here for over a year about hybrid Mavericks at MTC.

I look Maverick online for weeks, on paper it's a good fit.
Than a day (july 4) I go to dealership to try one. An ecoboost XLT. So much space, so nice bed, so fun to drive. Perfect fit. But, I live in middle of nowhere in harsh canadian winter. Si, I order an Tremor space white. Got hit last friday (july 11) and damn. It's an amazing truck, drive it 300km to back home. Better drive than the XLT and so much options. I dont miss my F-150 a second since. I got good remark in town and love the turbo sound and any situation is an opportunity for driving now.

Not really a "fall in love" story, more like an : "I love driving again and this truck is natural to me as fuck!" I dont search for options, where are my wheels or ask myself how much going there gonna cost me.

My 2022 Maverick was my retirement gift to myself. I picked it up in February that year at Long McArthur Ford in Salina KS and had a long drive back to Denver to play with all the bells and whistles. A very memorable trip for me and the truck has served me well ever since, including a few Mabett add ons since then.

I kept seeing the Maverick i have now online at the Dealership. I had enough of the BS BB recalls,dash rattles, Fuel Gauge that didn't register full and Battery Off to Save System. I called the dealership and talked to the salesman that sold me the BS and some F-150's on April 14,2025 IIRC.This was after seeing the Ford You Pay What We Pay advertisements. The salesman said he called me to tell me about the Ford Promotion but His Number came up Unavailable so it didn't answer. I also found a Silver 2024 FX4 at the same dealership but didn't care for the black wheels. And the salesman made the deal on the 2025 XLT AWD 2.0 EB Desert Sand Maverick with the Gray wheels that i liked better than the 2024 with the black wheels.
