I just drove home yesterday and the traffic on 75 north through Michigan was abysmal, it was often a parking lot from south of Ann Arbor to north all the way to Bay City, and people were still in the way and I couldn't get going full speed until after Grayling. One advantage of more poor people, is probably less traffic, so all the richy riches can get going places in style and comfort in their Bugattis, Rolls, and G Wagons in record times! I passed a few of those fancy cars yesterday...

Wow, you are unhinged. I am sorry you are having trouble with this and are either not reading other posts or are just incapable of understanding them.

Facts don't care about your feelings.
You mistake my passion for my country as just feelings.
I am not unhinged,
I am not of the liberal mind. Unlike the left I can see and consider other opinions.
My whole life I’ve watched this country suffer when a certain way of thinking was imposed on us. We just went through hell with the previous way of thinking. 4 years of it.

I have always been better off morally and financially when the conservative mind set was running things.

After all our discussion nothing will change.
I often forget that many can only see the side that validates their way of thinking.
Unable to consider other people ideas.
Btw, I’ve read every post.

I thank God that the majority won the day this time.
If your way is the right way we will know soon enough.
In about three years I’d say.

Hold fast to your ideas, wrong or right. It is still a free country, for now.

Heady -- this is the most accurate narrative I've read (and what I've been attempting to explain to others all along)...the capital side [private equity, venture capital, internal CAPEX expansion] is the cog this administration ignores purposefully and deliberately. Why would Goldman, Blackrock, JPMorgan Chase, etc. want to invest surplus funds into lower-margined manufacturing service lines or industries without adjusting their effective returns accordingly?
Indeed. I saw that the examples for like Tesla and SpaceX were added, and those are pretty nice US businesses, but they aren't bland manufacturing businesses like an aluminum wheel business would be, not really, which is why they are valued so much differently than say Ford or Chevy. Tesla is really billed as an energy services and software/AI company, and they constantly sells themselves that way to investors on their quarterlies, 10-K filings, etc. Those types of companies also needed to receive massive subsidies from the taxpayers to get off the ground as market disruptors, which they often aren't required to ever pay back.

In my opinion, people aren't exposed to any information about economics because both the social and traditional media landscape is owned exclusively by a very small handful of incredibly wealthy people, and it makes little sense to educate people about things that would not benefit you personally as an owner if you have no other overriding moral concerns - that's probably one of the main advantage of owning those media properties, the control of information.

where are you getting these canned responses? Oh wait thats right, TV. Well at least thats still made in America but not really helping much as its becoming a replacement for education to some.
Only time my idiot box gets turned on is to watch a sporting event or a movie.
TV made in America ? The hardware or the,
Oh it’s pointless,
There are many intelligent people in this nation.
The problem is they are surrounded by the not so intelligent.

This was typical, the uninformed attack the person not the idea.
My point was proved once again.
I’m sorry I bothered, I can’t contribute to this anymore

Ah no need to be mean to each other, I often say there's no need to look to either side of you to see where the problem lies. Instead, ask que bono? "Who benefits?" With tariff taxes, and many other things, the answer is not found by looking side to side, but to look up, above you.

Ok make it here make it cheaper because of no overseas shipping fees.
If paying Americans to work is bad we are doomed.
How about we make all manufacturing automated.
That way the labor force can keep eating pizza and playing video games :XD
Oh wait, that’s one of the reasons we are in such poor health.
Couch potato, an unknown effect of buying overseas.
:’P
Wait couch potatoes don't live as long. Wait how about everyone gets their own robot stays home and games others for their bots. Need a new roof = Rent a roof bot from from your 2nd cousin! 🤗

I thank God that the majority won the day this time.
If you think the Biden presidency was hell then you have not been paying attention.

Also, the majority did not win on election day. But again you seem allergic to facts.

Keep parroting fox talking points and keep your head buried.

The rest of America will continue on fighting for our rights and freedoms while your party works to remove them. Enjoy having no insurance or hospitals.

That was kind of the original idea, the economist John Maynard Keynes predicted with automation we'd have 15 hour work weeks and then everyone would have more time for vacations, and reading books, and playing with their children, without having to wait for retirement to do as many fun and fulfilling things - which was one option, of two. We chose the second option, to create the second gilded age with more inequality than we've ever seen, and send all the monetary benefits of the robots to a much smaller group of people at the very top, who get much larger individual benefits from reaping all the rewards for themselves and not having to split them up.

Financially I’m good. I’ve never struggled. My 5 year Air Force tour In West Germany was a great experience. I’ve had it good.

But from an outside perspective during the Regan Years we did well.
I want the rich people to get richer. They invest in companies and the working man can earn a living. The key word is Earn.
The liberals want a free ride It seems,They like the welfare state.

All of our useless banter means nothing because we have different views.
Has anyone looked at California lately ?
Or is the brain washing the left fed people complete and permanent ?

Reagan lived through the Great depression, and talked about the economics of tariffs from that perspective. Last time, to reverse course, we got economic policy like Medicare, Medicaid, and social security among other changes.

There is no guarantee of anyone throwing workers a lifeline in the future if they were to need one. We could also just create a large federal police force with a budget larger than most countries militaries that may be able to deal with any public discontent caused, building a kind of police state to protect the rich and their earnings instead.

Haven't had any help from a billionaire or millionaire yet in 74 years . Have had help from uncle Sam ( g .i . bill ) college and va loan . have always paid my fair share of taxes ( local, state, and federal ) . would never vote for tax savings for the 1% .

Watch this….

Tariff Shmariff.

People gonna buy what they want if they think its a reasonable price.
If they think it’s too high they can decide for themselves not to buy it.

I would have preferred that my Maverick was made in America but I bought it anyway, knowing its not. If it cost me another $1000 I would have still bought it. $1500-maybe. $2000-probably not.
Point is; You get to decide if you want to buy anything….or not.

Gov’ment gonna do what gov'ment do.
Idle bitching won’t help but if that’s what someone wants to do and they think it will make them feel better, go right ahead. Keyboard Warrior away, my friends.
Me? I’m going to decide for myself if something is worth what it costs and I’m willing to walk away with a smile on my face either way. I still love driving my Maverick.

Good for you but economic date for decades speaks against the idea that these are good policies.
