I have the basest of base side mirrors, not even power.
All I want are blind spot like in the upper trim levels; I don't need to plug them in to be powered or heated or scented.

Will the replacement mirror with integrated blind spot mirror snap into my plain-jane XT housing?

I'm looking into this before buying generic stick-on blind spot domes.

Nope, I don't think so.
Your XL would need 360 package to activate the mirror warning, part of the BLISS system.
Buy yourself some stick on's
Some who have the blind spot monitoring even use stick-ons.

I'm not talking about putting on new housings, just the snap-in mirrors INSIDE the housing.
I can't find anything saying/showing the mount difference, if any, for the stock XL mirror (not housing) and the upper trim levels with the blind spot mirror (not housing). If equipped with heat I just wouldn't have it plugged in.

those appear to just be one piece parabolic mirrors. I kind of like being able to see things in true perspective.

I'm not talking about new housings either. I have an XLT which would be an upper trim level from your XL. My blind spot warning has a light that comes on in the mirror if something is in my blind spot.

I can get a whole bolt on assembly for $100, but would rather just get the glass replacement and snap it in . Again, I won't be plugging it in to anything.

That mirror is one like my wife has on her 2016 Ford Escape base model.
Good luck snapping the mirrors off and on. I wonder how easy it is?

Why not just buy some glue on aftermarket ones? Use them on my Jeep Wrangler and it works perfectly for a few bucks.
Some people think stuff “glued on” looks like crap, and “working perfectly” is not enough.

I wanted to keep it stock if possible, and spending $40 on a factory mirror instead of $10 on a universal dome is fine with me.

Note:
I have read that most ALL Mavericks share the same wiring harness, and that trucks without certain features such as remote locking tailgate, door keypad, and...power mirrors just have the connector dangling there unused. If that's the case, I COULD buy power mirrors for $100 (including housing) and install them. But, I'd also have to buy the control pad for inside the cab. I don't really NEED power mirrors, but if I have to buy a whole system with the arm instead of just the replacement mirror, I might as well make them functional.

Yes, the glass with a blind spot mirror should just snap in.
"should".
Have you experienced this, or read/seen anything to confirm? I couldn't find anything online or here, which is why I started the thread.
I might just go ahead and order the replacement mirror and see if it fits, I can always return it. I'll post results for others looking to do the same thing.

I have used a panoramic rear view mirror like below for over 40 years. I bought one for our Pinto in 1984 & moved it to the Taurus in 1995. I will move it to Maverick.
