That's not too bad, I thought it was closer to 8 seconds but do you really think the hybrid would be worth it for someone who drives fast and does mostly highway driving? Again, I think I would end up getting lower fuel economy than what its rated for and regret not just getting the faster, more fun to drive version of the Maverick.
I find it HILARIOUS that you keep talking about price differences when you could fix that by taking it a little easier on the right pedal.

The real reasons to get the Ecoboost over the hybrid are:
-more towing power
-almost all highway driving (hybrid highway MPG is not that much better than Ecoboost highway MPG)
-"have fun" in other words waste gas by needlessly accelerating

As someone else noted, the hybrid pulls different- as long as you brake more gently each stop to charge the battery up (instead of wasting energy with the friction brakes) the battery has an "instant pull" most automatic transmission cars don't. You don't feel the gear shifts, upon mashing the throttle the computer just changes the engine RPMs.

A BETTER game to play is watch what kind of amazing fuel economy you can get- we've averaged 36mpg on extremely hilly city terrain over 2 years. That would be 39mpg if I were driving- my wife drives it to work almost every day and gets worse MPG than I do. She used to get 17MPG in our minivan.

I enjoy driving a 2016 Miata to work every day though. :)

It depends on your priorities, I still want something that I enjoy to drive and I am willing to lose some money there to have that. I watched multiple YouTube reviews on the Maverick, everyone that drove the Tremor and the Hybrid say the difference in performance is very noticeable, how much fun the Tremor is to drive. Getting rid of my Mustang and my Fusion, which I both enjoy to drive, its important to me that I don't totally give that up. That may not be practical but humans aren't always practical.

I also mentioned that most of my driving is highway driving, that's why I keep asking what the hybrid will do on fuel economy when I am at 82 MPH keeping up with traffic driving to work. In all my time here I haven't heard anyone share their real world fuel economy on an AWD Hybrid under these circumstances, that leads me to believe people who own the hybrid aren't operating it like that.

It's tough to nail down, my longest trips in FWD hybrid are usually 90minutes mostly highway (about 33mpg) but then as soon as I drive more calmed down on city streets the last 10 miles I can get the entire trip up past 40mpg. AWD I think is only 2-3mpg worse.

I would have gladly bought an AWD hybrid if they were available when we got ours but it's now way expensive to upgrade. It would cost us probably $10k to sell our '23 and get an AWD hybrid. Even though CarMax is selling my used 2023 truck for $500 less than we PAID for it originally LOL.

That's good to hear but does the hybrid give you great fuel economy when driving on highways and at higher speeds? I'd like to hear more on this personally.
I drive 99% around town. The one trip I did on the highway (4 hours round trip) I averaged around 35mpg.

I just did another long highway trip in the hybrid AWD , no trailer this time but I decided on 90mph and the fuel economy at 90 is about 23mpg, same as the Tremor at ~65-70. On normal tires of course, though. 😉. I'm not sure if that's fast enough to be considered driving fast, but there was no one faster yesterday that I came across...

It didn't have great acceleration once you're at those speeds, speeding up to pass is a gentler increase, and throwing big tires on would make it slower, too.

Yeah so it seems accurate that fuel economy on the highway with the hybrid, especially at higher speeds, may be closer to 30 MPG on highway. That's a lot of money to lose after buying a vehicles, especially how Ford raised the price on them over the years.

What speed did you average on the highway?

Now that is some good information, if I did go to the hybrid I probably would just keep it stock and forget the off roading as bigger tires/lift will hurt its fuel economy performance even more.

I ended up going for a 2025 Ford Maverick Tremor I found new on the lot at another Ford dealership for a very reasonable price, I should have all my thoughts and plans for my Maverick in another post in the next couple of days but I wanted to thank those who provided the insight I needed to make an informed decision.
