We pulled the same trailer (13 foot Prolite) 8700 km with our 2024 hybrid and got 10.1 liters/100 on the entire trip (28.1 mpg) (The Canadian/British gallon is 25% bigger than the American). We also had 2 motorbikes on the truck and hauled through the hills of Northern Ontario. We kept it under 60 mph except for the prairies where it is flat and the speed limit is higher. We also used eco setting for the entire trip. I am pleased with the mileage and towability of the hybrid with no tow package, but it's a light trailer.

I really like the specs/layout on the Prolite lounge. How do you like yours ?

My wife and I recently did about 2000mi towing a Aliner Ascape with a 24 XLT Ecoboost with 4k tow. Usually maintained around 60 - 65 mph, transmission in tow mode. Trip was mostly interstate through the mountains of Pennsylvania and Virgina. Mileage per tank full ranged from 14mpg in high winds to 20mpg on a flatter section with nice weather. Typical was 17 - 18 mpg. Checked the mileage both with the computer and by gallons at fill up. Agreed pretty close.

Trailer weighs 1500lbs empty. Probably had about another 600 to 800 lbs loaded between the trailer and the truck.

Very happy with the Maverick for towing.

We bought the the Prolite 12V because its weight combined with all the gear we had weighed about 500 lbs more than the CGVWR of the 22 Hybrid. Towed with no issues though the mountains in Colorado required TowHaul mode for sure. 12V is lighter than your Lounge and does not have propane...a feature we like. It has solar panels and a 3000W onboard inverter, useful features for us. The fridge is small, so we have an electric cooler in the bed of the Maverick as well. With our 25 Hybrid and 4K towing the Maverick didn't break a sweat.

Thanks for the information. I have a 2025 Lariat hybrid with 4K tow and plan to tow a trailer+tractor = 3800 lbs for relatively short distances (<50 miles one way). My question is, did you use the on-board trailer brake controller, or has anyone in the thread used the TBC with loads near the 4K limit? At trailer+gear=2100 lbs, you probably don't have trailer brakes.

My little trailer does have electric brakes...about 2,000 lbs loaded. I set the gain at 1.0 and entered the trailer specs into the features settings. (length and width). Brake controller worked pefectly, I never had to manually override or felt any difficulty braking.

Thanks. Long story on my end but my 5ft x 12ft (bed) aluminum trailer with a 5200# single axle with electric brakes will arrive in about 2-3 weeks. I'll be doing a core dump on my experiences with on-board Trailer Brake Controller + trailer + 2900# tractor. I estimate the trailer at 750# so 3650-3750# GVW which is close to the tow limit.

One neat thing in the trailer settings...you can separately track fuel mileage when the trailer is attached. Also be sure to name the trailer and set the width and length and gain so its a saved trailer. Then just be sure to choose it when you hookup to keep the BLIS active, otherwise its disabled.

My single axle, 838 pound aluminum trailer came in. I've fabricated some hardware for tiedowns and now have towed my 3000 pound Kubota BX23S tractor over 50 miles. Bottom line is at roughly 3900 pounds, my 2.5l hybrid 4K tow Maverick had no problem towing the combo from zero to 60mph on relatively flat terrain. Lots of details here but stability with 3000 pound load was quite good with a single axle trailer rated at 5000 pounds. I had to max out the controller gain to 8.0 to get comfortable "aggressive" stops. Programming the tractor load and empty trailers was pretty straight forward.

Next, post up your review of backing it up a hill (since reverse is all electric), attaining freeway speeds on uphill slopes (while towing) and towing your tractor uphill on a gravel or dirt road, where traction is limited. Thanks in advance. 🤣

The TFL Ike Gauntlet video on YouTube does exactly the highway speeds & uphill test that you mention, at maximum load, without too much trouble. They don't test the reverse, but gravel / dirt shouldn't be different from your 2.0t since all 4k tow hybrids are AWD. šŸ¤·šŸ»

Yeah, but TFL is not the real world. They buy or borrow trucks, run them through ringer then give them back to the owner or sell them after just a few months.

When they did the Ike gauntlet, they had the accelerator flat on the floor for 8 minutes straight, holding the engine at redline. I seriously doubt any MTC user would abuse their personal vehicle like that. Hearing someone’s towing experience when they refuse to abuse their vehicle may turn out to be less than satisfactory. That’s why I asked.

Towing on slippery surfaces with the AWD hybrid is not automatically going to be just like towing with the ecoboost on slippery surfaces. When an ice vehicle loses traction at part throttle and the engine starts to rev, the amount it revs is limited by pumping losses. The throttle plate limits the airflow, which prevents the engine from revving significantly. With an electric motor at partial throttle, when it loses traction, it will freely spin to its maximum rpm. And yes, of course that is what traction control is for. But, traction control with electric drive trains has to be programmed to intervene much more aggressively to prevent out of control wheel spinning, which can lead to an unsatisfactory off-road experience. For example, the hummer EV, the Rivian R1T and the cybertruck have all been criticized for poor throttle control in slippery situations. Trying to climb steep gravel hills, they barely produce any tire spin despite the throttle being pinned to the floor and then they lose momentum because the truck refuses to deliver more power. Does the Maverick hybrid do this too? I don’t know. I’d like to hear someone’s real world feedback.
