I've read that the most recent release supports the 2025. Anyone doing anything cool with it?

There's a few things I'd like to enable if possible:
  • Ability to open and close windows with key fob (let hot air out of vehicle before entering)
  • Enable FX4 drive modes on non-FX4 models, as was possible in previous model years
  • Disable lockout of media browsing while in motion
  • Adjust auto settings of climate control
    • 2025 pumps out a lot more air (louder) than my 2023 in the lowest auto setting. It's honestly really distracting. I'd love to set this lower.
  • Adjust heated steering wheel
    • Lower the temperature to prevent overheat (switching off and on again continuously). I haven't noted if my 2025 does this but 23 would always switch on and off.
  • Ensure vehicle stays in previous drive mode (Eco)
    • I've seen a popup to return to this mode... but it doesn't do so when I hit okay
  • Set max volume upon vehicle restart
    • Some of my VWs had this feature. Would love if my music started up at a slightly lower volume than I was previously listening at.
Anything else I'm missing?

I did notice a small bag set the middle sensor off when I had someone in backseat last week.

Anyone know if there's any way to use lane centering feature without adaptive cruise control?

The lane keeping assist is much less sensitive than my 2023 but as far as I can tell there's no way to use lane centering without adaptive cruise.

The worst part is that Ford's adaptive cruise (like every vehicle so equipped) won't let you get close enough to the vehicle ahead so that the driver knows to speed up or get over.

I won't mention what lovely state's drivers are notoriously slow in the left lane. Yes Michigan drivers are fast drivers, no we do not all suffer from road rage, and despite what every one of your exes claims... it actually is you!

As much as I love adaptive cruise in theory I'm certain that if we all used it we'd be going 45 on the expressway. Would be really nice to use lane centering without the adaptive cruise control.

this occasionally happens to me; yes, follow distance 1 isn't really that close, and in busy traffic you'll definitely leave enough space for aggressive drivers to think that you're inviting them to cut in.

disable ACC via tap on the brake pedal, then take control and get as close as you like. there isn't anything else to be done. hit resume button when you've passed them.

Personally I think ACC is a serious let down and potential safety hazard in that the shortest follow distance allows enough space for perhaps two perfectly rational (not even aggressive) Michigan drivers to cut in.

Bluecruise is better, as the ACC we're using has essentially the same features and capabilities for well over a decade.

It is not really intended or capable of driving in dense traffic such as Detroit.

Conversely, I can sometimes get through KC rush hour without being cut off, and generally it even brakes early and moderately enough to not unsettle me, or invite someone to rear-end me.

I'm currently debating where to set the precollision braking and swerving... as I live in a state where 15 over is the norm the highest sensitivity seems like a recipe for a totalled maverick or some serious whiplash.

I successfully unlocked lobo mode on a 2025 XL. But i got scared and reverted it and didn't try it lol. I did it via EZ mode. There is No longer "mud Ruts" "sand snow" just "off road" now im gonna try to find it. it is not in the first 10 SDM, theres like 60 i think.

Yeah I don't blame you... given it's an entirely different transmission.

When you say "no longer" do you mean even on FX4?

It's funny how they got rid of FX4 Lariat assuming everyone in that purchasing category would jump to Tremor, but I couldn't justify the price hike and frankly the loss in mpg and 4k tow. My vehicle is a passenger car for a couple miles 95% of the time (perhaps I should have gone hybrid) but I definitely go on shitty two-tracks more than I tow. I love the styling and the better angles on the Tremor, but at the end of the day is it really that capable an off-road vehicle? Then again to double the towing spec.... that's a substantial upgrade for under a grand and I think worth it for resale value.

The way I see it I can always add skid plates, lift kit, and more aggressive tires. Sure it doesn't have proper 4wd, but would this be any less capable than the FX4?

Honestly the software is really good on slippery. I locked it up on an icy canadian highway. A guy almost missed his turn and slammed on his brakes in front of me. Did just fine. First time id been in a software AWD Vehicle like that and i was really impressed not too fussed about getting offroad SDM. but i will succeed just because i'm salty they forced me to buy copilot 360 for 800$ with my tow package.

it's actually a regular 8F35 with a TCM map that removes 2nd gear so that the paddle shifters won't select it, and it shifts a little firmer.

that's it.

That's crazy.

Honestly what's really crazy is that you can't get Ford's cheapest vehicle with a manual transmission. My father hooked me up with his discount and said, "Can't you at least get paddle shifters?" I said, "Sure" and sent him a Lobo build. I don't think it would be great on two-tracks or hauling dirt around.

That said, you volunteering to turn your EB into a sleeper truck?

This is a question from someone who never alters the vehicle software so I honestly don't know the answer. If you make changes in FORSCAN and have a major engine, transmission issue, will the dealer be able to see if you altered it? I ask because I used to edit and make changes to very large manufacturing machinery software but only with the exact edits written by a software development engineer. The reason was that there were layers of the software I could not see in the field that can be affected negatively by changes made. These layers were visible to the code writer but once compiled for installation hidden from view by the editing software.
While I can not answer this definitively, I would imagine yes they would be able to see that you made modifications. Whether or not they would check that sort of thing I don't know.

The important thing is to backup your factory settings with Forscan before you edit anything.

I added some features to my 2023 FX4... all drive modes, traffic sign recognition, etc. Mind you this was after being tested by other users and nothing that we weren't absolutely certain our vehicles were capable of.

When I traded it in I didn't even bother going back to stock. I figured either Ford would flash it back or the next user would get some extra features that I knew were safe and reliable.
