The interior dome lights seldom come on. Very annoying on dark mornings or evenings. But now and again they work. Anyone else with this problem

Check to see if your vehicle has entered deep sleep mode. It should notify you on your Ford app. As stated by Scott, if it goes into deep sleep and you don't drive enough to charge the 12V battery, the interior lights will not come on.

I have the same issue, pretty annoying having to use the phone to stick the key in. I drive mine daily, so I'd imagine it's not a deep sleep or low battery issue. Asked the guy doing a recall if he could fix it, but he stumbled with words, really didn't know what he was saying.

Hopefully someone will chime in with a solution!

Your truck is going into sleep mode to preserve battery power. It's a common problem. It happens to me every day. Some say that Ford is working on a fix, but I will believe it when I see it.

You have a damaged 12V battery. No amount of driving will fix the problem once it has sulphated and no longer able to hold a charge. Blame the faulty BMS programming for never fully charging it.

Yup, just about everybody has had it or will have it. The BMS is preventing the battery from ever fully charging, causing it to sulphate and fail really early in its life. The 25s are getting an AGM battery which can resist sulphation better, but eventually they too will fail early. Ford was supposed to fix it before the end of the first quarter and they're way overdue at this point. I'm on my 3rd battery now, while still under warranty.

Not saying this is your issue, but was my issue... there is a button near the head light knob that turns the dome off.

I'm not near my truck or would show you where it is.

There is a 3-position switch in the centre of the overhead console, behind the glasses storage door. It sets how the interior lights work. It should be in the centre position.

Numerous posts on this issue.

Your 12v battery is very likely in need of a good overnight recharge, regardless of how much you drive it.

Just try it and I'd almost bet your problem will go away. Unless your 12v battery has already gone too long in an undercharged state and the battery is damaged from sulfation.

I wish they would hurry up. It’s annoying.! un practical. I need my dome light when I get in. Right now I’m just resetting the battery to make it work. I’m getting tired of doing that. I drive this truck every day, but it goes into sleep mode a lot. Already took it to the dealer and they said there was nothing wrong with it.

I doubt that your dealer is testing correctly. If your dome light is out, then you're going into deep sleep mode to preserve the last dregs of power available from a badly-damaged battery. If you're under the 3/36 warranty period then its a free replacement, but you might want to switch to a more competent dealer...

If you are running the BMS reset procedure without fully charging the battery, you will have a dead battery soon.
